El agua de Tulsa es la más rica

TULSA, OK – El agua de Tulsa ganó el concurso de Agua potable en la conferencia  “Oklahoma Water & Pollution Control”, que se realizara recientemente en el Rose State College, Midwest City. “Estoy muy orgulloso del departamento de aguas y cloacas por haber recibido este premio”, dijo el alcalde G.T.Bynum.  “El director Clayton Edwards y su equipo se merecen el reconocimiento por su trabajo y esfuerzo constante para que todos en Tulsa podamos tomar y disfrutar un agua rica, día y noche, cada vez que abrimos el grifo”. 

Tulsa se enfrentaba a otras ciudades en la competencia:  Oklahoma City, Edmond, Chickasha, Ada, Midwest City, Del City y Nichols Hills. El agua fue analizada en tanto a su olor, color y sabor, con un puntaje del 1 al 10. Tulsa obtuvo los 10 puntos. 

La muestra envida provenía de la planta de tratamiento de Mohawk. “Ahora pueden decirle a todos que son la mejor agua de Oklahoma”, dijo el Dr. Brett Wood, vicepresidente de Desarrollo Laboral y Comunitario en la universidad Rose State College. 

Entre los jurados se encontraban el alcalde Jack Fry de Midwest City; Dan Gilmartin, CEO de  Michigan Municipal League; Saundra Naifeh, ejecutiva local y ex alcalde de la ciudad de Edmond ; y Linda Vater, KFOR, Garden Guru. 

La Ciudad de Tulsa presentará su agua en el concurso Regional Southwest American Water Works Association  que se realizará en octubre del 2019 en en Branson, Mo. 

Tulsa water Oklahoma’s best tasting  

TULSA, OK — Tulsa’s water won the Drinking Water Tasting Contest at the Oklahoma Water & Pollution Control Conference held recently at Rose State College, Midwest City. 

“I am proud of our Water and Sewer Department for winning this award,” said Mayor G.T. Bynum. “Director Clayton Edwards and his team deserve this recognition for their excellent, continuous work to provide high quality and good tasting water to Tulsa water customers day and night – whenever they turn on the faucet.” 

Tulsa competed against seven other cities in the water tasting contest: City of Oklahoma City, City of Edmond, City of Chickasha, City of Ada, City of Midwest City, City of Del City and City of Nichols Hills. The water submitted was judged on clarity, odor, color and taste. Samples were scored 1 through 10, with 10 being the best water. 

Tulsa’s sample in the contest came from the Mohawk Water Treatment plant. “They have bragging rights as the best tasting drinking water in Oklahoma,” said Dr. Brett Wood, Associate Vice President of Workforce and Community Development with Rose State College, the host of the conference. 

Judges for the Water Tasting Contest were Midwest City Mayor Jack Fry; Dan Gilmartin, Executive Director and CEO of the Michigan Municipal League; Saundra Naifeh, local executive, community volunteer, and former Mayor of the City of Edmond; and Linda Vater, KFOR, Garden Guru. 

With Oklahoma’s best tasting water, the City of Tulsa will compete at the Regional Southwest American Water Works Association conference, to be held in October 2019 in Branson, Mo.
