40 minutos de desastre, Arkansas cae ante LSU 94-88. El Tercer tiempo deja sabor a derrota.

Los 32 puntos de Daniel Gafford no fueron suficientes y Arkansas termino siendo derrotada en casa por segunda vez consecutiva, esta vez ante los Tigres de LSU quienes le arruinaron la tarde a los Jabalis por paliza de 94-88.

La falta de puntería desde el tiro libre fue una de las razones por las cuales Arkansas no pudo acortar la ventaja de 12 puntos que LSU tenia en los primeros 20 minutos del partido.

En la segunda mitad, con 5 minutos por jugarse, Arkansas logro empatar el encuentro y obligar a LSU a tiempos extras. Cinco minutos bastaron para que el equipo visitante sepultara a Arkansas y llevarse la victoria por marcador final de 94-88.

“Cuando sales a la cancha a jugar por 40 minutos y luego te vas a tiempo extra, duele perder, pero como dice nuestro entrenador, así son estos juegos y pueden ir para cualquier lado, esta derrota duele mucho y nos dolerá hasta media noche, esperamos que el próximo juego logremos sacar un mejor resultado.” Dijo Daniel Gafford quien contribuyo con 32 puntos ante LSU.

“Siempre buscamos una manera de ganar, pero hay que darle crédito a LSU, jugamos ante un buen equipo, creo que la segunda mitad fue mucho mejor para nosotros, LSU hizo muy buenas jugadas y anoto los tiros libres, y nosotros no hicimos eso. Estoy decepcionado por la derrota, pero no por el esfuerzo que hizo el equipo.” Concluyo Mike Anderson director técnico de Arkansas.

Arkansas viaja este martes a Tennessee para enfrentarse a los Voluntarios que no serán un plato fácil de romper. Luego el sábado los Jabalis juegan su segundo juego de visitante ante Ole Miss, y no regresan a Bud Walton Arena hasta el miércoles 23 de Enero cuando reciban la visita de Los Tigres de Missouri, ex equipo de Mike Anderson.

The 32 points of Daniel Gafford were not enough and Arkansas ended up being beaten at home for the second time in a row, this time against the LSU Tigers who ruined the Razorbacks afternoon by beating 94-88.

Free throws were one of the reasons why Arkansas could not shorten the 12-point lead that LSU had in the first 20 minutes of the game.

In the second half, with 5 minutes to play, Arkansas managed to tie the game and force LSU to overtime. Five minutes were enough for the visiting team to bury Arkansas and take the victory by a final score of 94-88.

“When you go out on the court to play for 40 minutes and then you go to extra time, it hurts to lose, but as our coach says, that’s how these games are and they can go anywhere, this defeat hurts a lot and will hurt us until midnight, we hope that the next game we get a better result. “Said Daniel Gafford who contributed with 32 points against LSU.

“We always look for ways to win, but we have to give LSU credit, we played against a good team, I think the second half was much better for us, LSU made very good plays and scored the free throws, and we did not do that. I’m disappointed about the loss, but not because of the effort the team made.” Mike Anderson, technical director of Arkansas, concluded.

Arkansas travels to Tennessee this Tuesday to face the Volunteers who will not be an easy dish to break. Then on Saturday the Razorbacks play their second away game on the road against Ole Miss, and do not return to Bud Walton Arena until Wednesday, January 23 when they host The Missouri Tigers, Mike Anderson’s former team.
