Una historia de amor y balas

Justo a tiempo para el Día de San Valentín, surge un cuento de un triángulo amoroso y un intento de asesinato. El domingo por la mañana, alrededor de las 8:30, se notificó a la policía que una víctima de un disparo se había internado en un hospital local. La víctima, cuyo nombre no ha sido revelado, se había trasladado a la sala de emergencias después de haber sido baleado por otro hombre, al que identificó como Alejandro Escobedo. 

La víctima dijo que él y Escobedo habían acordado reunirse en un parque en East Tulsa para discutir una disputa en curso que los dos hombres estaban teniendo sobre una mujer con la que ambos estaban involucrados. 

La víctima le dijo a la policía que había llegado al parque de buena fe para tratar de resolver la situación de manera pacífica, pero cuando Escobedo llegó allí, decidió dejar que las balas hablaran. 

La policía dijo que el auto de la víctima fue alcanzado por las balas al menos siete veces. No está claro cuántos disparos recibió la víctima, ni se conoce el alcance de sus lesiones. 

Escobedo fue detenido el domingo por la tarde a las 12:30, y actualmente se encuentra en el Centro de Detención David L. Moss, acusado de Disparar con Intención de Matar. Los registros de la cárcel muestran que Escobedo ahora también tiene una retención de ICE, por lo que, independientemente del resultado de su caso, es casi seguro que será deportado. Lo que se sabe sin lugar a dudas es que su descarado acto de pasión significa que Escobedo estará separado de su amada en el Día de San Valentín, en esta ocasión lo pasará en compañía de sus compañeros presos en la cárcel del condado de Tulsa. 

Escobedo tiene una comparecencia ante el tribunal programada para el 15 de febrero. 

Esta no es la primera vez que el amor ha llevado a la violencia y la tragedia, y seguramente no será la última. (La Semana) 

 

 

A tale of love and bullets

TULSA, OK — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a tale emerges of a love triangle and an attempted murder. Police were notified at around 8:30 Sunday morning that a shooting victim had checked himself into a local hospital. The victim, whose name has not been released, had driven himself to the emergency room after having been shot by another man, whom he identified as Alejandro Escobedo. 

The victim said he and Escobedo had agreed to meet at an East Tulsa park to discuss an ongoing dispute the two men were having over a woman with whom they were both involved. 

The victim told police that he had arrived at the park in good faith to try to resolve the situation peacefully, but when Escobedo got there, he decided let bullets do the talking. 

Police said the victim’s car was hit by bullets at least seven times. It is not clear how many times the victim was shot, nor is the extent of his injuries known. 

Escobedo was taken into custody at 12:30 on Sunday afternoon, and is currently in David L. Moss Detention Center charged with Shooting with Intent to Kill. Jail records show Escobedo also now has an ICE hold, so regardless of the outcome of his case he is almost certain to be deported. What is known beyond any doubt is that his brazen act of passion means that Escobedo will be apart from his beloved on Valentine’s Day, instead spending the occasion in the company of his fellow inmates at the Tulsa County Jail. 

Escobedo has a court appearance scheduled for February 15. 

This is not the first time love has led to violence and tragedy, and it will surely not be the last. (La Semana)
