Tulsa Transit offers info sessions on new bus routes

TULSA, OK – Tulsa Transit is launching new bus routes and schedules this fall and will be hosting in-person training sessions in August and September so new and current riders can ask questions and learn how to easily plan their trips.

The new route and schedules will go into effect Sept. 23.

Tulsa Transit staff members will host training sessions at several major bus stations throughout August and September. Staff members and Tulsa Transit ambassadors, wearing easy-to-recognize mint green shirts, will be able to answer questions about the new routes. Maps of the new routes will be available at the training sessions; time schedules are being finalized and will be available in September.

“The new routes and schedules have been designed with rider input and will improve riders’ experience and reduce travel time,” said Ted Rieck, Tulsa Transit General Manager. “We’re excited to offer these new options to our riders and want to make sure everyone understands this new and improved way to travel.”

The August training dates have been set and include:

In addition to developing more efficient routes and schedules, Tulsa Transit has instituted a new policy that riders will no longer be able to flag down a bus anywhere on the street. Beginning Sept. 23, riders will only access a bus at the designated bus stops. The policy is designed to help improve passenger safety and keep the buses on time.
