Wild Latin Nights with Rica Suave

Rica Suave es la presentadora del show Wild Latin Nights en FM Wild 104.9 En su programa nos trae las últimas grandes canciones de la música Latina, para que todos en Oklahoma podamos conocer un poco más de los ritmos tropicales y las últimas tendencias de la canción hispana.

Su nombre real es Ricarda Arroyo, es la primera generación de mexicanos en Oklahoma, la combinación perfecta entre Estados Unidos y México. Nació en Altus, un pequeño pueblo del estado Sooner, y logró hacerse camino al andar hasta convertirse en una chica de ciudad, la promesa de la radio hispana de Oklahoma.

“Lo que hago hoy es muy diferente a lo que solía hacer al inicio de mi carrera. En mi show presento a los artistas latinos aquí en Oklahoma, artistas de Puerto Rico, de México, de muchos lugares, para mostrarle a la gente la música que no conocen”, dijo Rica.

Su camino se inició con la presentación de música tropical mejicana en la otra estación radio local, de allí pasó al segmento de deportes, siendo la voz femenina en los partidos de los Thunders y hoy, busca marcar tendencia, siendo la voz de dos mundos, el anglo y el hispano.

“Siempre que hago radio o estoy en un evento busco conectar ambos idiomas, porque yo soy parte de esos dos mundos”, aseguró Rica.

Sin embargo, su carrera meteórica también tiene sus obstáculos. Al venir de una familia muy conservadora, su rol y exposición mediática, la ponen en las antípodas de sus padres.

“Mi mayor sueño es que mi padre acepte lo que hago”, reconoció Rica, sabiendo que su esfuerzo, su estudio, su lugar en el mundo, no son nada si no cuenta con la aprobación de quienes más ama.

A pesar de todo, Rica sigue adelante, sabiendo que algún día alcanzará todo lo que se proponga, incluso más.

“En el futuro me gustaría tener mi propio programa, sea en la mañana o en la noche, porque tengo mucho para decir”, dijo Rica, ¡esperemos que así sea! (La Semana)

Rica Suave is the host of the Wild Latin Nights show on Oklahoma City’s FM radio station Wild 104.9 In her program she brings listeners the latest great songs of Latin music, so that everyone in Oklahoma can get to know a little more about tropical rhythms and the latest trends of the Hispanic song.

Her real name is Ricarda Arroyo, she is a first generation Mexican-American born in Oklahoma, the perfect bridge between the United States and Mexico. She was born in Altus, a small town in the Sooner state, and managed to make her way by walking until she became a city girl, the promise of Oklahoma Hispanic radio.

“What I do today is very different from what I used to do at the beginning of my career,” Rica told La Semana. “In my show I introduce Latin artists here in Oklahoma, artists from Puerto Rico, from Mexico, from many places, to show people the music they don’t know.”

Her path began with the presentation of Mexican tropical music on another area radio station, and from there she went to the sports segment, being the female voice of the Thunder’s games, and today she seeks to set a trend, being the voice of two worlds, the Anglo and the Hispanic.

“Whenever I do radio or I’m at an event I look for connecting both languages, because I am part of those two worlds,” said Rica.

However, her meteoric career also had its obstacles. Coming from a very conservative family, her role and media exposure doesn’t always sit well with her parents.

“My biggest dream is that my father accepts what I do,” said Rica, knowing that her effort, her study, her place in the world, are nothing if she doesn’t have the approval of those she loves most.

In spite of everything, Rica goes on, knowing that one day she will achieve everything she wants, even more.

“In the future I would like to have my own program, either in the morning or at night, because I have a lot to say,” said Rica. Hopefully so! (La Semana)
