Abatido por Marshals después de matar a su esposa en el departamento de Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH, OK – Dos personas murieron después de un tiroteo y enfrentamiento en Tahlequah el miércoles por la noche.

La policía de Tahlequah dice que fueron llamados varias veces por disparos en los Apartamentos Tahlequah Terrace alrededor de las 8 p.m.

Informaron que una persona que llamó dijo que su hermana, Rachel Maxwell, de 40 años, había recibido un disparo en la cabeza de su marido, Eddie Ray Maxwell, de 37 años. La persona que llamó le dijo a la policía que había salido corriendo del apartamento.

Los oficiales llegaron a la escena y se unieron al equipo de servicio de Marshals de la Nación Cherokee S.W.A.T. en un enfrentamiento con el tirador.

La policía dice que después de varios intentos de persuadir a Maxwell para que se rindiera, uno de los Alguaciles le disparó y lo mató.

Las autoridades luego encontraron a Rachel Maxwell muerta dentro de la casa.

La Oficina de Investigaciones de Oklahoma está investigando el tiroteo y la policía dice que el video de las cámaras de cuerpo estarán disponibles en una fecha posterior.

Man killed by Marshals after killing his wife in Tahlequah apartment

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Two people are dead after a shooting and standoff in Tahlequah Wednesday night.

Tahlequah police say they were called multiple times about gunshots at Tahlequah Terrace Apartments around 8 p.m.

Police say one caller said her sister, 40-year-old Rachel Maxwell, had been shot in the head by her estranged husband — 37-year-old Eddie Ray Maxwell Sr. The caller told police she had ran out of the apartment.

Officers came to the scene and were joined by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service S.W.A.T. Team in a standoff with the shooter.

Police say after several attempts to persuade Maxwell to give up, one of the Marshals shot and killed him.

Authorities then found Rachel Maxwell dead inside the home.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations is investigating the shooting and police say body camera video will be available at a later date.
