Comité de supervisión de tumbas de 1921 se reunirá en diciembre

TULSA, OK – El mundo puede estar un paso más cerca de conocer el alcance del horror que llovió en Black Wall Street de Tulsa en 1921. El comité de supervisión pública para la investigación de tumbas de la masacre de Tulsa en 1921 se reunirá el lunes 16 de diciembre a las 5:30 pm en Carver Middle School, 624 E. Oklahoma Pl., para recibir resultados de la exploración geofísica y del cementerio de Oaklawn y el parque Newblock en busca de posibles tumbas de la masacre de Tulsa Race de 1921.

En octubre, el estudio arqueológico de Oklahoma, con sede en la universidad de Oklahoma, completó su trabajo en dos de los tres sitios que fueron identificados originalmente para el escaneo inicial basado en datos e informes históricos del Informe comisionado del estado de 2001 de la masacre de 1921 en Tulsa. La ciudad está en conversaciones con el propietario del sitio restante.

Durante la reunión de diciembre, los expertos en geofísica proporcionarán su análisis del trabajo de campo realizado en el cementerio Oaklawn y el parque Newblock y discutirán los próximos pasos potenciales para la investigación. 1921 Graves Public Oversight Committee to Meet on Dec. 16

TULSA, OK – The world may be one step closer to knowing the full extent of the horror that rained on Tulsa’s Black Wall Street in 1921. The Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation will meet on Monday, Dec. 16, 5:30 p.m. at Carver Middle School, 624 E. Oklahoma Pl., to receive results from the geophysical and scanning of Oaklawn Cemetery and Newblock Park for the potential of graves from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

In October, the Oklahoma Archeological Survey based at the University of Oklahoma, completed their work at two of the three sites that were originally identified for initial scanning based on data and historian reports from the 2001 State Commissioned Report of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The City of Tulsa is in discussion with the property owner of the remaining site.

During the December meeting, geophysical experts will provide their analysis from the field work conducted at Oaklawn Cemetery and Newblock Park and discuss potential next steps for the investigation. Following the presentation, the Committee will determine if sufficient information is available to move into the next phase of the investigation, which could include additional field work or an excavation. The Committee will reconvene in February to further develop next steps of the physical investigation.

Three goals were established around the 1921 graves reexamination, including: public oversight, historical context and the physical evidence investigation.
