Cancelados los grandes premios de Baréin y Vietnam en la Fórmula 1 / All the Automotive Events Delayed or Canceled Due to Coronavirus

We’ll keep you updated on all the racing and car culture events that have been affected by COVID-19.

In an effort to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, authorities worldwide are encouraging “social distancing.” This includes discouraging or outright banning large gatherings. That emphasis on social distancing—plus widespread travel restrictions—means that many large business and sporting events will be canceled or postponed. Here, we’ve collected a complete list of the motorsports and car culture events affected by coronavirus.

Formula 1: McLaren pulled out of the Australian Grand Prix after a team member tested positive for COVID-19. Hours later, the entire Grand Prix weekend was canceled. Shortly after that, F1 announced it will postpone the Bahrain Grand Prix—which was previously set to run without spectators—and the Vietnam Grand Prix.

The Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed, though a replacement date has not been announced. The rest of the 2020 races are currently unaffected, though that’s subject to change as the races get closer.

IMSA: The 12 Hours of Sebring has been postponed. Originally scheduled for March 18-21, it will now be held from November 11-14.

NASCAR: The Atlanta Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway races have been indefinitely postponed. NASCAR will provide further details on the rest of the season at a later date.

IndyCar: All Indycar races for the months of March and April have been canceled. This includes the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the Grand Prix of Alabama, the Grand Prix of Long Beach, and the IndyCar Challenge at the Circuit of the Americas. They will not be rescheduled. The Indy 500 Open Test is also off.
