El Novato Davonte Davis se lucio ante la Universidad de Southern la noche del miércoles contribuyendo con 14 puntos en su cuenta personal, y ganar 7 rebotes. El rival de Arkansas se mostro inofensivo y no puso Resistencia para que los Jabalís se llevara la victoria por marcador de 79-44.

Gran noche para Jalen Tate, Moses Moody, y JD Notae que terminaron con 12 puntos. Justin Smith termino con 11 puntos para ser el quinto jugador de Arkansas que anotara mas de diez puntos en la victoria ante Southern.

“Defensivamente no estábamos defendiendo como querías, y por eso decidí pedir tiempo afuera. Hubieron algunas jugadas que no eran las indicadas por el cuerpo técnico, y solo quería asegurarme que los jugadores sabían de lo que teníamos que hacer. Todo lo que hacemos es parte del currículo de los jugadores y es parte de la manera que queremos jugar aquí en Arkansas, y creí que era necesario tomar el tiempo afuera para servirnos de enseñanza y aprendizaje.” Dijo Eric Musselman entrenador de Arkansas.

Los Jabalís regresan a la acción el próximo sábado a las 7 de la noche cuando reciban la visita de los Osos de la Universidad Central de Arkansas (UCA).

Freshman Davonte Davis scored a game-high 14 points with seven rebounds in just 16 minutes of play off the bench to lead Arkansas (5-0) to a 79-44 victory over Southern Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena.

 5 Razorbacks scored 12 each: Jalen Tate, Moses Moody and JD Notae. Desi Sills, who had five assists and no turnovers, and Justin Smith contributed 11 points each.

“Defensively we weren’t defending the way we wanted, and that’s why I decided to ask for time out. There were some plays that weren’t the ones assigned by the technical staff, and I just wanted to make sure the players knew what we had to do. Everything we do is part of the players’ resume and it’s part of the way we want to play here in Arkansas, and I thought it took time out to serve as a teaching and learning moment.” Said Eric Musselman head coach for Arkansas.

Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena Saturday (Dec. 12) to host Central Arkansas. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
