Trent Shores Renuncia como fiscal federal / U.S. Attorney Trent Shores announces resignation

TULSA, Okla. – El fiscal federal Trent Shores anunció que renunciará a su cargo de oficial principal de aplicación de la ley para el distrito norte de Oklahoma a finales de febrero.

“Hoy, le presenté al presidente mi renuncia como Fiscal de los Estados Unidos para el distrito norte de Oklahoma, la cual se hará efectiva el 28 de febrero de 2021”, dijo Shores en un comunicado publicado la semana pasada. “Ha sido el honor de toda una vida servir a nuestra gran nación y a los ciudadanos del noreste de Oklahoma. Después de dieciocho años con el departamento de justicia de los Estados Unidos, sé que mi familia y yo podemos dormir bien por la noche sabiendo que los hombres y mujeres de la oficina del Fiscal de los EE.UU. y sus socios de las fuerzas del orden están cumpliendo con el trabajo. Es más que gratificante saber que he tenido la oportunidad de contribuir al mejoramiento y bienestar de nuestra comunidad, la misma comunidad en la que crecí de niño y donde mi esposa y yo hemos elegido criar a nuestra familia”.

Shores agradeció a los senadores Jim Inhofe y James Lankford “por su apoyo y confianza en mí para dirigir esta oficina cuando me recomendaron como nominado para el puesto”.

“Agradezco al Fiscal General Sessions y al Fiscal General Barr por su confianza en mis habilidades y su atención para mejorar la seguridad pública en el territorio indígena, especialmente para promover la conciencia y proporcionar recursos para abordar la crisis de los indígenas desaparecidos y asesinados”. Agregó Shores.

Continuó expresando su agradecimiento a los hombres y mujeres de la Fiscalía local de los Estados Unidos.

“Este equipo diverso y dedicado busca la verdad y la justicia y promueve el estado de derecho”, dijo Shores. “Ellos hacen lo correcto incluso cuando eso no es conveniente o fácil”.

El puesto de fiscal de los Estados Unidos es uno que generalmente se ocupa cuando una nueva administración asume el control en la Casa Blanca. Los colegas de Shore que dirigen los distritos occidental y oriental de Oklahoma también han anunciado su dimisión. El presidente Biden aún no ha nombrado a sus sucesores.

U.S. Attorney Trent Shores announces resignation

TULSA, Okla. – U.S. Attorney Trent Shores has announced that he will resign as chief law enforcement officer for the Northern District of Oklahoma at the end of February.

“Today, I tendered to the President my resignation as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, effective February 28, 2021,” Shores said in a statement released last week. “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve our great nation and the citizens of northeastern Oklahoma in this capacity. After eighteen years with the United States Department of Justice, I know that my family and I can sleep well at night knowing that the men and women of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and their law enforcement partners are on the job. It is beyond rewarding to know that I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to the betterment and well-being of our community –the very same community in which I grew up as a child and where my wife and I have chosen to raise our family.”

Shores thanked Senators Jim Inhofe and James Lankford “for their support and confidence in me to lead this office when they recommended me as a nominee for the position.”

“I am grateful to Attorney General Sessions and Attorney General Barr for their trust in my abilities and for their attentions to improving public safety in Indian Country, especially to advance awareness of and provide resources to address the crisis of missing and murdered indigenous persons,” Shores added.

Shores went on to express his appreciation of the men and women of the local United States Attorney’s Office.

“This diverse and dedicated team pursues truth and justice and advances the rule of law,” Shores said. “They do what is right even when that is not convenient or easy.”

The U.S. Attorney position is one that is typically filled when a new administration takes over in the White House. Shore’s colleagues who head up the Western and Eastern districts of Oklahoma have also announced they are stepping down. President Biden has not yet named their successors.
