La voz de la música cristiana estuvo en Tulsa recientemente en la Iglesia Victory y dialogó con La Semana sobre sus futuros proyectos.

Es una de las cantantes predilectas por el público, heredera de una voz inconfundible que nos ayuda a llegar hasta dios y en Tulsa se siente como en su segundo hogar. “Lo más lindo cuando uno canta es saber que la gente está sintiendo, y aquí en Tulsa se nos quiere mucho, estar aquí es estar en casa”, aseguró tras más de una hora y media en el escenario.

En su último disco “Princesas Olvidadas”, la cantautora y ministra buscó rescatar las historias de las mujeres marginadas de la Biblia, narraciones que hoy son parte de un exitosísimo libro que la ayuda a defender los derechos de las mujeres. “Hicimos las canciones de esas historias y después un libro, y en el 2019 me dieron el premio en Nueva York a la mejor escritora del año. El libro fue una bendición y lo estamos presentando en distintos congresos de mujeres”, contó. “Lo que se viene es llevarlo a la pantalla grande como 12 historias de mujeres”, agregó, esperanzada de ver su idea en Amazon y Netflix el próximo año.

La pandemia dilató sus proyectos y cambió su vida, especialmente tras la muerte de su padre. No obstante, Leal no bajó los brazos y decidió seguir componiendo para alabar al Señor y cumplir con su propósito. “Dios no está solo para que te arregle la vida descompuesta que tienes, dios, lo que busca en nosotros, es tener una relación personal, explicarnos cómo salir adelante y convertirnos en gente maduramente espiritual”, dijo, a conciencia que la pandemia desvió a más de uno del camino. “Lastimosamente el distanciamiento social, nos llevó a distanciarnos físicamente y nos hizo más fríos. Ya no te extraña que alguien muera, hay cosas que se volvieron normales”, aseguró, consciente de que en su caso se acercó aún más a dios.

En tiempos de Covid y con proyectos que siguen creciendo Verónica Leal nos invita a todos a seguir un consejo muy especial: “A todos los que nos escuchan, les digo: ¡es tiempo de buscar a dios y confiar!”. (La Semana)

Verónica Leal, the voice of Hispanic Christian music, was in Tulsa recently at Victory Hispanic Church and talked with La Semana about her future projects.

She is one of the most beloved artists in the Hispanic world, who with an unmistakable voice helps us reach God, and here in Tulsa she feels at home.

“The most beautiful thing when you sing is knowing what the people are feeling, and I know that here in Tulsa we are deeply loved,” she said after being on the stage almost two hours. “Being here is being at home.”

On her last record “Forgotten Princesses,” she recalled the stories of the women in the Bible who were neglected by history, brief narrations that today are also part of a book that helps her fight for women’s empowerment.

“We did the songs and then I decided to write the book, and in 2019 in New York City they gave me an award for best writer of the year. It was a real blessing and today we are using it with different women’s gatherings,” she said. “What comes next is taking it to the big screen, and shooting it as 12 stories of women.” Leal is hoping for a film to screen on Netflix and Amazon next year.

The pandemic postponed some of her concerts and goals, and also brought sadness to her life with the departure from this life of her beloved father, still she did not surrender and keeps on singing to praise the Lord.

“God is not only there to fix the broken life you may have, what he wants is to have a personal relationship with us, to explain to us how to move forward and become spiritually mature people.”

“Unfortunately, social distancing made us detach physically and also made us colder. We are no longer surprised when somebody dies, because certain things became normal,” she said, admitting that in her case, she came closer to God, despite everything.

In times of Covid and with projects that continue to grow, Verónica Leal invites us all to follow a very special advice: “To all who listen, I say: it is time to seek and trust God.” (La Semana)
