El guardameta de Springdale Cesar Rizo paro dos penales que ahora tienen a Los Bulldogs en la gran final del campeonato escolar.
Mientras Jesús Oropeza le dio vida a la escuadra de DJ Beeler al anotar un golazo de tiro libre que termino en el ángulo superior derecho de la portería que defendía el guardameta de Rogers Heritage.
100 minutos de intenso futbol no fueron suficientes para definir el segundo boleto a la gran final, y la batalla entre Perros y Águilas se tuvo que definir desde el manchón de los doce pasos.
Fue Springdale que logro concretar los primeros cuatro penales a la perfección. Los Bulldogs de la mano del guardameta Cesar Rizo quien paro el primero y el cuarto penal de Rogers Heritage para así enviar a Springdale a la gran final de conferencia 6A y aspirar a otro titulo escolar.
“Fue un partido complicado, la verdad que fue mucha presión, yo personalmente sentí mucha presión. Gracias a Dios pude atajar dos penales, y poder ayudar al equipo a llegar a la final, y muchas gracias a la afición Bulldogs que sin ustedes esto no seria posible.” Dijo Cesar Rizo arquero de Springdale.
“Supe que iba a ser una batalla hasta el final, no podíamos bajar la intensidad, ya cuando entro el gol supe que se iban abrir otras oportunidades y sacar el triunfo. La gloria a el (Rizo) hizo buenas atajadas y nos mantuvo en el juego y nos dio el gane.” Agrego Jesús Oropeza anotador del 1-1 para Springdale.
“Siempre esperas que tu guardameta te pare algún penal, pero Rizo hoy tapo dos para nosotros.” Concluyo DJ Beeler entrenador de Springdale.
La gran final de la entre Conway y Springdale esta programada para el viernes 21 de Mayo a las 4P.M. y será transmitida en vivo por la NFHS y la AAA.

Springdale’s goalkeeper Cesar Rizo saved two penalties that now have the Bulldogs in the Arkansas State Soccer Championship finals of the 6A . While Jesús Oropeza gave life to DJ Beeler’s squad by scoring a free kick that ended up in the upper right-hand corner of the goal defended by the Rogers Heritage goalkeeper.
100 minutes of intense soccer were not enough to define the second ticket to the State Championship game, and the battle between Bulldogs and War Eagles had to be defined from penalty mark.
It was Springdale who managed to make the first four penalties to perfection. The Bulldogs led by goalkeeper Cesar Rizo who saved the first and fourth penalties to send Springdale to the 6A conference State Championship Match vs Conway and aspire to another school title.
“It was a difficult game, the truth was that it was a lot of pressure, I personally felt a lot of pressure. Thank God I was able to save two penalties, and be able to help the team reach the final, and many thanks to the Bulldogs fans that without you this would not be possible. ” Said Cesar Rizo, Springdale keeper.
“I knew it was going to be a battle until the end, we couldn’t lower the intensity, and when the goal entered I knew that other opportunities were going to open up and win. The glory to him (Rizo) who made good saves and kept us in the game and gave us the win. ” Added Jesus Oropeza, the 1-1 scorer for Springdale.
“You always hope your goalkeeper to stop one PK for you, but he (Rizo) saved two for us today.” Springdale coach DJ Beeler concluded.
Conway and Springdale will meet Friday, May 21 at 4PM. For the State Championship Match and the game will be livestream on the NFHS and AAA websites.
