Ex policía condenado por abusar sexualmente de un niño / Former Police Officer Sentenced for Sexually Abusing a Young Child
TULSA, OK – Un hombre de Sapulpa fue condenado el pasado jueves por abusar sexualmente de un niño pequeño, anunció el fiscal federal interino Clint Johnson.
El juez de distrito Gregory K. Frizzell condenó a Bradley Don Goodin, de 47 años, a 15 años de prisión federal seguidos de 20 años de libertad supervisada.
Durante la audiencia, la joven víctima habló ante el Tribunal, así como otro niño que también fue abusado por Goodin. El juez Frizzell señaló lo convincente de las declaraciones y subrayó que este tipo de delitos tiene un impacto significativo tanto en los niños como en sus familias.
El fiscal federal en funciones Clint Johnson dijo: “Goodin traicionó a dos jóvenes víctimas y se aprovechó del papel que desempeñó en sus vidas. Las víctimas de este caso han hablado hoy con valentía sobre el impacto de los crímenes de Goodin. Estoy orgulloso de ellas por haber dado la cara para enfrentarse a este depredador de niños”.
El 27 de abril de 2021, Goodin se declaró culpable de contacto sexual abusivo con un niño menor de 12 años en territorio indio.
En una entrevista forense infantil, la niña describió dos incidentes en los que Goodin abusó sexualmente de ella el 5 de octubre de 2019. La niña tenía miedo de contarle a su madre lo que estaba sucediendo en ese momento porque temía que Goodin las lastimara. Más tarde le reveló el abuso a su madre. En el momento de los incidentes, Goodin era un oficial del Departamento de Policía de Bristow. No ha estado empleado en el departamento desde noviembre de 2019.
En una acusación sustitutiva de febrero de 2021, Goodin fue acusado de abusar sexualmente de un total de tres menores. También fue acusado de ser un delincuente en posesión de 21 armas de fuego. Goodin optó por declararse culpable el día en que iba a comenzar su juicio.
El Departamento de Policía de Sapulpa, la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Creek y el FBI llevaron a cabo la investigación. Los fiscales adjuntos Jeffrey A. Gallant y Matilda Villalobos son los encargados de procesar el caso. La Sra. Villalobos es una fiscal del Distrito de Nuevo México. Se ofreció como voluntaria para ayudar en los esfuerzos de enjuiciamiento aquí en el Distrito Norte de Oklahoma debido al aumento de las responsabilidades jurisdiccionales en relación con los delitos que involucran a víctimas o acusados nativos americanos y que ocurren dentro de las Reservas de la Nación Muscogee (Creek) y la Nación Cherokee.
Former Police Officer Sentenced for Sexually Abusing a Young Child
TULSA, OK — A Sapulpa man was sentenced last Thursday for sexually abusing a young child, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell sentenced Bradley Don Goodin, 47, to 15 years in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release.
During the hearing, the young victim spoke before the Court as well as another child who was also abused by Goodin. Judge Frizzell noted how compelling the statements were and stressed that these types of crimes have a significant impact on both children and their families.
Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson said, “Goodin betrayed two young victims and took advantage of the role he played in their lives. The victims in this case bravely spoke today about the impact of Goodin’s crimes. I am proud of them for coming forward to face this child predator.”
On April 27, 2021, Goodin pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact with a child under 12 in Indian Country.
In a child forensic interview, the girl described two incidents when Goodin sexually abused her on Oct. 5, 2019. The girl was afraid to tell her mother what was happening at the time because she feared Goodin would harm them. She later disclosed the abuse to her mother. At the time of the incidents, Goodin was an officer with Bristow Police Department. He has not been employed with the department since November 2019.
In a February 2021 superseding indictment, Goodin was charged with sexually abusing a total of three minors. He was also charged with being a felon in possession of 21 firearms. Goodin opted to plead guilty the day his trial was to begin.
The Sapulpa Police Department, Creek County Sheriff’s Office and FBI conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeffrey A. Gallant and Matilda Villalobos are prosecuting the case. Ms. Villalobos is a prosecutor from the District of New Mexico. She volunteered to assist prosecution efforts here in the Northern District of Oklahoma due to increased jurisdictional responsibilities regarding crimes involving Native American victims or defendants and that occur within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and Cherokee Nation Reservations.
