FIFA iniciará visitas a ciudades candidatas de Estados Unidos para el Mundial de 2026
MADRID.- La FIFA iniciará el próximo miércoles 15 de septiembre una primera ronda de visitas a las ciudades de Estados Unidos que son candidatas a acoger partidos del Mundial 2026, que este país organizará de forma conjunta con México y Canadá.
Boston, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Washington DC, Baltimore, Nueva York/Nueva Jersey, Filadelfia y Miami, son las localidades que la FIFA inspeccionará durante la visita que se prolongará hasta el 23 de septiembre.
Según informó el organismo, a finales de noviembre será el turno del resto de ciudades estadounidenses, así como de las candidatas de Canadá y México.
Para su elección, la candidatura propuso jugar 60 partidos en Estados Unidos, 10 en Canadá y 10 en México e incluyó 16 sedes y 23 estadios en Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Edmonton, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas, Los Ángeles, Ciudad de México, Miami, Monterrey, Montreal, Nashville, Nueva York/Nueva Jeresey, Orlando, Filadelfia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto y Whasington.
«Estas visitas son un paso esencial para elegir las mejores sedes para el torneo a fin de concluir este competitivo proceso de selección en el primer o segundo trimestre del 2022«, señaló.

FIFA kicks off venue visits to FIFA World Cup 2026™ candidate host cities
FIFA delegation will visit nine US candidates, starting in Boston and concluding in Miami
Following various virtual sessions and continued exchange on a wide range of technical matters, FIFA will launch the first venue visits to the FIFA World Cup 2026 candidate host cities on 15 September.
The initial tour will last nine days, with visits to the following US cities: Boston, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Washington DC, Baltimore, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia and Miami.
The remaining US bidding venues, as well as those in Canada and Mexico, will be visited by the end of November. This series of visits is a key step in selecting the best venues for the tournament, with a view to finalising this highly competitive selection process by Q1/Q2 2022.
The overall delegation will be led by FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President Victor Montagliani, and will include FIFA experts across multiple fields, including venue management, stadium and city infrastructure, team facilities, commercial, bidding and legal.
