El juego del calamar se ha convertido en la serie más exitosa producida por Netflix desplazando a producciones como ‘La casa de papel’ la cual ocupó el primer lugar durante bastante tiempo.

Una creciente fama que ha hecho que sus principales actores y actrices se ubiquen en el foco de los reflectores y una de ellas es HoYeon Jung, quien interpreta el rol de ‘la jugadora número 67’.

La joven es una reconocida modelo que ha participado en distintos eventos al otro lado del mundo. En el 2015 Vogue US la nombró ‘la gran estrella del street style de Seúl y próxima top model de Corea’, según refirieron desde el portal Vogue.

Recientemente la figura de El juego del calamar ha conseguido que su nombre continúe resonando en lo más alto de la industria de la moda a nivel internacional. ¿La razón? Jung acaba de ser nombra nueva imagen internacional de Louis Vuitton. Hecho que la puso como trending topic en Twitter gracias a que la firma francesa decidió apostar por ella.

Cabe precisar que no es la primera vez que la casa de moda incluye a figuras importantes del mundo asiático para protagonizar sus campañas a nivel mundial. Anteriormente miembros de la agrupación BTS se convirtieron en embajadores de la marca francesa.

Model-turned-actress Jung HoYeon recently made her big acting debut in Netflix’s hit thriller ‘Squid Game.’

What does the trending suspense-thriller drama Squid Game has anything to do with fashion? (And no, those green tracksuits don’t count).

For the uninitiated, the nine-parter which debuted on Netflix on September 17 trails contestants in a twisted game of survival that is best described as a cross between The Hunger Games and last year’s breakout hit Alice in Borderland.

The show has already made history: it’s reportedly the highest-ranked K-drama to premiere on the streaming service.

Amid the mayhem and carnage, the show’s fiery North Korean pickpocket who goes by the name of Kang Sae-Byeok has truly caught the attention of viewers and fashion insiders alike. That role is played by Jung HoYeon – a household name in South Korea’s fashion and modelling scene who is making her acting debut on Squid Game.

The 27-year-old’s crossover from the fashion world to the entertainment world is bound to make her star shine even brighter. At the time this article was written, she has already amassed 1.4 million followers on Instagram, crossing the one million mark that is usually reserved for K-pop stars.
