Falleció Raquel Ércole pionera de las telenovelas en Colombia

BOGOTÁ.- La actriz y bailarina, Raquel Ércole, una de las pioneras de la televisión colombiana, murió este lunes en Bogotá a los 81 años de edad, informaron fuentes cercanas a su familia.

Ércole, nacida en 1940 en Neiva, capital del sureño departamento del Huila, hizo parte del elenco de «El 0497 está ocupado», primera telenovela colombiana, que fue el punto de partida de su exitosa carrera en la televisión nacional.

La actriz participó en más de 30 producciones de cine y televisión, entre ellas «La Alondra», «Rauzán», «La pezuña del diablo», «El hijo de Ruth», «Cartas a Beatriz», «¿Por qué mataron a Betty si era tan buena muchacha?», «Mambo», «Pasiones secretas», » «Si nos dejan» y «Perro amor».

Actress Raquel Ércole, pioneer of telenovelas in Colombia, dies

Bogotá, Dec 13 (EFE) .- The actress and dancer Raquel Ércole, one of the pioneers of Colombian television, died this Monday in Bogotá at the age of 81, sources close to her family reported.

Ércole, born in 1940 in Neiva, capital of the southern department of Huila, was part of the cast of “El 0497 está desconectado”, the first Colombian telenovela, which was the starting point of her successful career on national television.

The actress participated in more than 30 film and television productions, including “La Alondra”, “Rauzán”, “La hozuña del diablo”, “Ruth’s son”, “Letters to Beatriz”, “Why did they kill Betty, was she such a good girl? “,” Mambo “,” Secret passions “,” “If they let us” and “Dog love”.

“We bid farewell with nostalgia and affection to the talented Colombian actress Raquel Ércole, a television icon and reference for generations, who shone for years with her magnificent performances. To her family and friends, our solidarity,” wrote on her Twitter account on Colombian president, Iván Duque.

Ércole was married to Lizardo Díaz, a musician who was part of the folkloric duet “Los Tolimenses”, with whom she had three children, one of them also a dancer and actress Patricia Ércole.

The actress had retired from television in 2003 but returned seven years later to play the character of Teresa San Miguel in the Caracol TV telenovela “Secretos de familia”.

In August 2018, Ércole was decorated by the Colombian House of Representatives with the Grand Cross order of Ibero-American social communication. EFE
