El actor Jason Momoa, popular por sus papeles en Game of Thrones y Aquaman, será uno de los protagonistas de la décima entrega de Fast & Furious, una de las sagas más exitosas de la historia del cine, que se estrenará el 18 de mayo de 2023.

El diario The Hollywood Reporter avanzó este viernes la primicia del fichaje, posteriormente confirmada por medios especializados en Hollywood como Variety o Deadline, aunque por el momento los estudios de Universal guardan bajo secreto los detalles del rodaje.

La cinta recaudó más de 700 millones de dólares, un botín que la sitúa como una de las superproducciones de Hollywood más taquilleras de 2021.

F9 contó con Justin Lin como director y con un espectacular elenco en el que, además de Vin Diesel, aparecían Michelle Rodríguez, John Cena, Charlize Theron y Helen Mirren. Todos ellos repetirán sus personajes en la nueva entrega.

La décima película de Fast & Furious será la penúltima de esta enorme saga de acción, carreras de autos y máxima adrenalina, ya que está previsto que Vin Diesel y compañía se despidan con la undécima cinta.

Aunque esta despedida no supondrán el final definitivo de Fast & Furious, sino solo el cierre de su trama central, puesto que está previsto que se hagan películas derivadas que amplíen el universo narrativo de estas historias que han triunfado en las salas de todo el planeta.

El primero de esos «spin-off» fue Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), que contó con Dwayne Johnson y Jason Statham como protagonistas.

Por su parte, Momoa, que saltó a la fama por la serie Game of Thrones (2011-2019) y en los últimos años ha interpretado a Aquaman en las películas de DC Comics, tiene varios proyectos como la serie See y Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. EFE
