Los Ángeles Rams conquistaron este domingo el segundo campeonato de la NFL de su historia al vencer 23-20 a los Cincinnati Bengals en el Super Bowl LVI.
El pasador de Los Ángeles, Matthew Stafford llevó al triunfo a su equipo con un pase de anotación para Cooper Kupp a sólo minuto y medio del final. Stafford acumuló tres envíos de anotación en el duelo. El jugador más valioso del Super Bowl LVI fue el receptor de los Rams Cooper Kupp, quien recibió dos pases de anotación.
Con este triunfo Sean McVay, con 36 años recién cumplidos, ahora es el entrenador más joven en obtener el trofeo Vince Lombardi. Ese honor pertenecía a Mike Tomlin, quien con los Steelers lo hizo en el Super Bowl XLIII cuando contaba con 36 años 11 meses.
Matthew Stafford pasó para 283 yardas, tres pases de TD y dos intercepciones. En los Bengals, Joe Burrow, logró 263 yardas, una anotación y fue capturado siete veces.

The Los Angeles Rams won their second NFL championship in history on Sunday by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI.
Los Angeles quarterback Matthew Stafford led his team to victory with a touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp with just a minute and a half to go. Stafford racked up three touchdown passes in the game.
The most valuable player in Super Bowl LVI was Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who received two touchdown passes.
With this victory Sean McVay, just turned 36, is now the youngest coach to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
That honor belonged to Mike Tomlin, who did it with the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII when he was 36 years 11 months old.
Matthew Stafford passed for 283 yards, three TD passes and two interceptions. For the Bengals, Joe Burrow had 263 yards, one touchdown and was sacked seven times.
The Rams fizzled out on the first drive of the game when Trey Hendrickson got past Andrew Whitworth and sacked Staford. Los Angeles’ defense responded strongly; stopped Cincinnati’s attack on fourth down and one.
Stafford recovered immediately and on his next drive led his team for 50 yards to cap off his offense with a touchdown pass to Odell Beckham for a 7-0 lead.
The Bengals responded with Evan McPherson, who kicked his 13th straight field goal in the playoffs to pull within 7-3.
In the second quarter, Los Angeles again dragged the Bengals’ defense for 75 yards that ended with a new touchdown pass for the triple crown winner, leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns in the season; Cooper Kupp, 13-3.
Zac Taylor’s team’s attack responded with a long 14-play drive that was capped off with a trick play in which Joe Mixon instead of running passed the ball to Tee Higgins, 13-10.
Cincinnati came back hot in the second half and on the first play of the third quarter Tee Higgins got past cornerback Jalen Ramsey, caught Burrow’s pass and turned the score around 13-17.
The Bengals’ defense kept the momentum of the game with an interception on the Rams’ first drive off a pass that bounced off Ben Skowronek’s hands and was caught by Chidobe Awuzie, an error the offense took advantage of with another field goal, 13-20 .
Los Angeles closed the gap on a kickoff by Matt Gay midway through the third period, 16-20.
In the fourth quarter, with less than two minutes left, the Rams regained a 23-20 lead on Stafford’s third touchdown pass, caught by Cooper Kupp to seal the win.
The Rams have played five times for the NFL championship; they won Super Bowl XXXIV over the Titans and now the LVI. They lost the XIV edition against the Steelers, and the XXXVI and LIII against the Patriots.
The Rams were crowned at their home, SoFi Stadium, located in Inglewood, California, making them the second team in the NFL to lift the Lombardi Trophy at home.
The first to do so were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at their home, Raymond James Stadium, where they beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV last year.
Cincinnati racked up its third lost Super Bowl; he fell in the XVI editions, in 1982, and XXIII, in 1989, against the San Francisco 49ers.
