Nuevo Cónsul de México en Arkansas y Oklahoma / New Mexican Consul in Arkansas and Oklahoma

TULSA, OK — El consulado de México en Little Rock Arkansas que atiende a mexicanos en Oklahoma tiene oficialmente nuevo titular, se llama Carlos Ignacio Giralt Cabrales un diplomático con cargo de embajador quien sustituye al también diplomático de carrera Rodolfo Quilantán Arenas.

Este cambio  es uno de los  4  anunciados en consulados mexicanos  en Estados Unidos para  reforzar la defensa y la atención a la comunidad de México en el exterior, esto se anunció por  la Cancillería Mexicana  el pasado  11 de Abril pero no se han llevado a cabo ya que el recién nombrado  Ignacio Giralt aun despacha como representante diplomático de la oficina de  Guangzhou en la  República Popular China y Rodolfo Quilantán sigue en  la oficina de Little Rock.

Más allá del protocolo burocrático de un nuevo Cónsul, la comunidad mexicana  quiere saber que tanto va a mejorar la deficiente atención que tienen para su documentación.  Con el argumento de la pandemia los servicios consulares mexicanos  de emisión de documentación se vieron reducidos al mínimo creando un déficit que afecta a cientos de miles de paisanos que hoy no han podido o obtener o renovar su pasaporte o matricula consular. No es un problema solo de Arkansas, los mexicanos en el exterior especialmente en USA y Canadá tienen  con el gobierno de  López Obrador  una crisis sin precedentes de falta de atención en  documentación  consular.  En este momento sí alguien necesita cita para ir hasta la sede de Arkansas,  no encuentra y solo unos pocos y con mucha suerte son los que pueden obtener algunos de los contados espacios disponibles.

Atrás quedaron aquellas jornadas de Consulados Móviles en Oklahoma City y Tulsa donde los funcionarios consulares  avisaban un mes antes de venir y se  instalaban   ¡hasta por una semana!  El año pasado y el actual  hubo  algunos servicios en Oklahoma pero  ahora: no solo no avisan,  si no tal parece que  lo hacen al amparo del  secreto y solo se da  a conocer hasta después de que ya se llevó a cabo,  desde el consulado han explicado que atienden solo a mexicanos que habían solicitado espacio con mucha anticipación.  El año pasado se anunció la autorización por parte del Gobierno de México  de una nueva oficina consular Oklahoma City que se supone debería estar atendiendo este mismo año, hasta ahora no existe información pública que permita conocer el avance, mientras tanto la oficina de Little Rock es la que sigue atendiendo en la medida de lo posible a los mexicanos de Oklahoma.  Hay dos formas para obtener una cita para renovación o emisión de pasaportes y matricula consular en la oficina de Little Rock,  la primera es llamando al  1-424-309-0009 y la segunda es mediante el sitio de internet “citas.sre.gob.mx” en ambos el trámite  es gratuito y las autoridades mexicanas alertan sobre posibles “gestores” que venden citas algo que es prohibido y sí usted recurre a uno podrían cancelarle su lugar.

LITTLE ROCK — The Consulate of Mexico in Little Rock, Arkansas that also serves Mexicans in Oklahoma officially has a new leader, Carlos Ignacio Giralt Cabrales, a diplomat with the position of Ambassador who replaces the career diplomat Rodolfo Quilantán Arenas.
