OKLAHOMA CITY – A medida que la transmisión del COVID-19 sigue aumentando en todo el estado, el Departamento de Salud del Estado (OSDH) recuerda a los habitantes de Oklahoma que hay herramientas disponibles para ayudar a protegerse a sí mismos y a sus seres queridos. El estado tiene un amplio suministro de vacunas y medicamentos antivirales. Las pruebas COVID-19 para uso doméstico están disponibles para su compra en varios puntos de venta o de forma gratuita a través del USPS. También se pueden realizar pruebas in situ en todo el estado.

Según los datos publicados por el New York Times, “en la última semana se registraron una media de 1.714 casos diarios en Oklahoma. Los casos han aumentado un 47 por ciento respecto a la media de hace dos semanas. Las muertes han aumentado en un 4729 por ciento.

“Desde el comienzo de la pandemia, al menos 1 de cada 4 residentes se ha infectado, un total de 1.096.910 casos reportados. Al menos 1 de cada 272 residentes ha muerto por el coronavirus, un total de 14.525 muertes.

“Enero de 2022 fue el mes con el mayor promedio de casos, mientras que abril de 2021 fue el mes con el mayor promedio de muertes en Oklahoma”.

COVID-19 surges in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY – As COVID-19 transmission continues to increase throughout the state, the State Department of Health (OSDH) is reminding Oklahomans tools are available to help protect themselves and their loved ones. With at-home, non-reportable tests readily available, it is difficult to know the full scope of current cases, however it is clear transmission has been increasing. Hospitalizations are also increasing, but fortunately at a considerably slower pace than we have seen in previous surges.

“One of the best things you can do if you are symptomatic is to test and stay home,” says Keith Reed, Commissioner of Health. “Taking these precautions will help reduce community transmission. Additionally, there are tools available you can choose to use to protect yourself including good handwashing, testing, vaccination and wearing a mask in high-risk areas. Effective treatments are also available, including antiviral medications and antibody treatment.”

The state has ample supply of vaccine and anti-viral medication. At-home COVID-19 tests are available for purchase at various retail outlets or free through the USPS. On-site testing is also available throughout the state.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, at least 1 in 4 residents have been infected, a total of 1,096,910 reported cases. At least 1 in 272residents have died from the coronavirus, a total of 14,525 deaths.

“January 2022 was the month with the highest average cases, while April 2021 was the month with the highest average deaths in Oklahoma.”
