Trágico hallazgo. Las autoridades policiales encontraron cuatro muertos, incluidos tres niños, dentro de una casa ubicada en Danbury, Connecticut, al noreste de Estados Unidos, tras recibir una escalofriante llamada al 911 en la tarde del miércoles 27 de julio, según reportaron diversos medios.

La policía acudió a la casa, situada en Whaley Street, a las 6.30 de la tarde del miércoles después de escuchar la llamada telefónica de un hombre angustiado quien estaba llorando. Tres niños de entre 5 y 12 años fueron encontrados muertos dentro de la vivienda, indicó el diario The Sun en un reporte actualizado en la madrugada del jueves.

Durante la inspección, los policías hicieron otro descubrimiento desgarrador en el cobertizo del patio trasero de la casa, donde encontraron el cadáver de una mujer. Todas las identidades de las víctimas fueron resguardadas hasta que se les notificara a los miembros de la familia, acotó The Sun.

De acuerdo con el jefe de policía Patrick Ridenhour, el suceso parecía aislado y no existía una amenaza inmediata para la comunidad en la noche del miércoles. “Nuestros equipos de evidencia están aquí, están procesando la escena”, comentó al medio News 12, citado también por The Sun.

“ES UN MOMENTO EXTREMADAMENTE DIFÍCIL”

El Fiscal del Estado y su inspector también acudieron al sitio de la tragedia en esa localidad de Connecticut. “Y hablarán con los vecinos, los posibles testigos y obtendrán información sobre las víctimas y hablarán con los miembros de la familia”, mencionó el jefe policial Patrick Ridenhour.

Hay una investigación en curso y está en sus primeras etapas a partir de ahora. “Realmente, es un momento extremadamente difícil para muchos de los oficiales, especialmente para aquellos quienes tuvieron que entrar” a la casa, acotó Patrick Ridenhour al referirse a la dramática escena.

NO ESTÁN BUSCANDO A SOSPECHOSOS TRAS HALLAZGO DE LOS CUATRO MUERTOS

“Nos aseguramos de que su salud mental y su bienestar (de los oficiales) también estén siendo atendidos en este momento”, apuntó el jefe policial. Hasta la madrugada del jueves 28 de julio no se había nombrado a ningún sospechoso, aunque la policía dijo que no estaba buscando activamente a nadie, indicó The Sun.

Por su parte, News 12 mencionó que la policía no ha revelado la causa de las muertes, pero dijo que cree que todas las víctimas están vinculadas. Tampoco se precisó quién fue el hombre que llamó angustiado al 911 o si está relacionado de alguna forma con el suceso que ha conmocionado a la comunidad y a los oficiales.

CONMOCIÓN EN UN VECINDARIO TRANQUILO

El medio NBC Connecticut también reportó el suceso y habló con un vecino quien relató que no había escuchado nada fuera de lo común el miércoles cuando se hallaron los cuerpos. “A las cinco en punto de esta noche, estaba regando mis flores y nada. Nada parecía sospechoso o algo así”, manifestó el residente Tom Neville.

Poco después, Tom Neville vio una avalancha de oficiales y ambulancias llegar al sitio. En este vecindario normalmente tranquilo, el terrible evento ha dejado a algunos nerviosos. “No tan cómodo como me gustaría estar. Una vez más, conociendo el vecindario como lo conocemos, es una sorpresa ver algo” como esto, agregó Tom Neville, de acuerdo con el reporte de NBC Connecticut.

TRAGIC MURDER-SUICIDE! Police found four dead, including three children, inside a house located in Danbury, Connecticut after receiving a chilling 911 call on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 27, according to various media reports.

Police responded to the house, located on Whaley Street, at 6.30pm on Wednesday after receiving a phone call from a distraught, sobbing man. Three children between the ages of 5 and 12 were found dead inside the house according to The Sun.

While inspecting the property, officers made another heartbreaking discovery in a shed in the backyard of the house, where they found the body of a woman. The mother was identified as 36-year-old Sonia Loja. The children were Junior Panjon, 12, Joselyn Panjon, 10, and, Jonael Panjon, 5.

According to Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour, the incident appeared isolated and there was no immediate threat to the community as of Wednesday night. “Our evidence teams are here, they are processing the scene,” he told News 12.

The State Attorney and his inspector also went to the site of the tragedy in the Connecticut town. “And they’ll be talking to any neighbors and any possible witnesses and getting some background on the victims and talking to family members.,” Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour said.

There is an ongoing investigation and it is in its early stages as of now. “It’s a really extremely difficult time for many of the officers, especially those who had to go inside,” Patrick Ridenhour said, referring to the dramatic scene.

POLICE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR SUSPECTS

“We are ensuring their mental health and well-being is being taken care of at this time, as well,” said the police chief about the responding officers. As of early Thursday morning, July 28, no suspects had been named, although police said they were not actively looking for anyone, The Sun reported.

News 12 reported that police believe the three children were strangled and the mother hanged herself. It was also not specified who called 911 in anguish or if he is related in any way to the incident that has shocked the community and the officers.

COMMOTION IN A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD

NBC Connecticut also spoke with a neighbor who said he had not heard anything out of the ordinary on Wednesday when the bodies were found. “At 5 o’clock tonight, I was watering my flowers and nothing. Nothing looked like suspicious was going on or anything,” resident Tom Neville said.

Shortly after, Tom Neville saw a rush of officers and ambulances arriving at the house. In this normally quiet neighborhood, the terrible incident has left some on edge. “Not as comfortable as I’d like to be. Again, knowing the neighborhood the way we do, it’s a surprise to see anything,” added Tom Neville.
