Chayanne recibirá el premio «Icono» en los Billboard

CHAYANNE ES UN ICONO DE LA BALADA ROMÁNTICA

El cantante puertorriqueño Chayanne será reconocido con la distinción de Icono que conceden los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina y actuará durante esa gala que se celebrará el próximo 29 de septiembre en Miami, evento que será retransmitido por la cadena Telemundo.

Este galardón se otorga a artistas cuyas carreras no solamente han perdurado a lo largo del tiempo, sino que también se han convertido en referencia para su género, detalló la organización del evento este jueves a través de un comunicado.

Chayanne es un icono de la balada romántica y del género pop en español en todo el mundo, que ha consolidado ese éxito con más de 50 millones de álbumes vendidos, agregó.

Elmer Figueroa Arce, su nombre real, será honrado con el Premio Billboard Icono y cantará durante la premiación, que será retransmitida por Telemundo desde el Watsco Center de Coral Gables (Florida).

Chayanne además se presentará en la sesión de Preguntas y Respuestas Billboard Icono el 28 de septiembre durante la Semana de la Música Latina de Billboard.

Los finalistas a los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina 2022 serán anunciados el próximo jueves.

El cantante tiene además 25 canciones que alcanzaron el primer puesto en los listados de Billboard, incluyendo nueve números 1 en la lista de Hot Latin Songs.

En esa misma lista también logró posicionar 29 canciones en el Top 10, registro este último que lo convirtió en el tercer artista pop latino masculino con más éxitos en la historia de la lista.

Recientemente, lanzó «Te amo y punto», que llegó al número 11 de la lista Latin Pop Airplay de Billboard, el puesto más alto desde que el tema «Qué me has hecho», junto a Wisin, llegase al número 7 en 2017.

La canción marca su primer lanzamiento en más de cuatro años desde «Di qué sientes tú» y «Choka choka», con Ozuna, en 2018.

Chayanne también ha triunfado en la televisión y el cine, incluyendo títulos como «Los chicos en conexión caribe», «Linda Sara», «Provócame», y «Dance with me».

El artista además ha sido portavoz de la Alta Comisión para los Refugiados de Naciones Unidas y de la Fundación Make-A-Wish.

Desde 2014, el artista es uno de los Embajadores de la Cruz Roja Americana y recibió el Premio Crystal Cross por su participación en la campaña 100 Días de Verano para incentivar a la comunidad latina a que se inscriba como donante.

Los «Premios Billboard de la Música Latina» coinciden con la Semana de la Música Latina de Billboard, que regresa a Miami del 26 de septiembre al 1 de octubre.

Chayanne to Receive Icon Award at 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards

The 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place Sept. 29 at Miami’s Watsco Center.

Chayanne will be honored with the icon award at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Billboard and Telemundo announced Thursday (Aug. 11).

The Billboard Icon Award is given to an artist who has carved out a career that has not only remained relevant through time, but has also made them the most distinguished artist in their genre, celebrated globally for achieving both musical and commercial success. The Puerto Rican balladeer and pop star — whose career spans more than four decades — has built a legacy as one of the most beloved and respected artists in the entertainment industry.

Chayanne is set to perform during the awards show, which will broadcast live via Telemundo on Thursday, Sept. 29, and will also speak at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Week, where he’ll give his first interview in more than five years.

The 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, the longest-running awards show in Latin music, will take place at Miami’s Watsco Center. Finalists for the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be announced on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The three-hour live awards show, which will feature performances by the top names in Latin music, will begin at 8 p.m. ET, preceded by the one-hour red carpet special “La Alfombra de los Premios Billboard.” The awards will be broadcast simultaneously on Spanish entertainment cable network Universo, throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional, and on demand the next day on Peacock.

As has been the case for more than 20 years, the Billboard Latin Music Awards coincide with Billboard’s annual Latin Music Week, the single largest and most important gathering of the Latin music industry, taking place Sept. 26-30. Latin Music Week will feature panels, conversations and workshops at the Faena Forum and exclusive performances and fan experiences throughout the week in Miami.
