Siete personas murieron este viernes y 12 más resultaron heridas en un accidente de tráfico en una carretera en el estado de Guanajuato, en el centro del país, según reportaron autoridades.

“Accidente tipo choque entre un torton y una camioneta de pasajeros con afectación vial por el cierre de 3 carriles con dirección a León en la carretera federal libre Silao-León, altura CACESA, colonia Campestre de San José”, reportó en Twitter la cuenta de Protección Civil de Guanajuato.

El saldo confirmado por las autoridades fue de siete muertos, cuyos cuerpos quedaron esparcidos sobre la carretera.

El secretario de Salud de Guanajuato, Daniel Díaz Martínez, informó además de otras 12 personas que tuvieron que ser hospitalizadas, cuatro de ellas graves.

El resto de las víctimas se encuentran en estables: dos en código amarillo y 6 en verde. Todas están siendo atendidas en el Hospital General de León y en las clínicas del IMSS 58 y 53.

Entre los pasajeros de la camioneta Nissan Urban se encontraban 13 trabajadores del municipio de Silao que se dirigían a sus trabajos en el parque industrial Pilba, ubicado sobre la carretera a Santa Ana del Conde.

Según el relato de testigos, citados por medios locales, el accidente habría sido ocasionado por un peatón que intentó cruzar la carretera Silao-León a la altura de la comunidad Refugio de los Sauces.

Metros antes del entronque con la carretera Santa Ana de Conde, el peatón se habría cruzado la vía de forma imprudencial, pero un vehículo lo habría arrollado previo a darse a la fuga. Dicha acción provocó que los demás automóviles comenzaran a frenarse.

La velocidad a la que viajaba la Urban habría hecho inevitable que ésta se impactara contra la caja de un tráiler de la empresa Coca-Cola, provocando que los tripulantes salieran proyectados del vehículo y terminaran tendidos sobre la carretera.

Los automovilistas que presenciaron el choque reportaron lo sucedido a los números de emergencia 911. Cuando llegaron, los cuerpos de rescate se encontraron una escena fuerte: cuerpos tirados y mutilados que estaban regados sobre la vialidad.

Uno de los fallecidos fue la persona que se atravesó la carretera imprudencialmente, trascendió. Entre las víctimas se encontraban 2 mujeres y 5 hombres.

Las autoridades también informaron que los trabajos de rescate iban a tomar varias horas, por lo que recomendaban utilizar vías alteras como la carretera Silao-León o la salida a Comanjilla y el Eje Metropolitano con dirección a León.

“Ante el trágico accidente ocurrido en la carretera León-Silao, he instruido a Libia García y al Dr. Daniel Diaz para brindar todo el apoyo a las familias de quienes lamentablemente perdieron la vida y atención a todas las personas heridas. Estaré atento y apoyando”, escribió en sus redes sociales el gobernador de Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo.

De enero a julio de este año, 9 mil 315 personas han fallecido a causa de accidentes de tránsito en México, de las que 841, el 9 %, ocurrieron en Guanajuato, de acuerdo con datos del Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública.

Motorists who witnessed the crash reported what happened to the 911 emergency numbers. When they arrived, the rescue forces found a strong scene: lying and mutilated bodies that were scattered on the road.

One of the deceased was the person who recklessly crossed the road, it transpired. Among the victims were 2 women and 5 men.

The authorities also reported that the rescue work would take several hours, so they recommended using alternate routes such as the Silao-León highway or the exit to Comanjilla and the Metropolitan Axis towards León.

“Faced with the tragic accident that occurred on the León-Silao highway, I have instructed Libia García and Dr. Daniel Diaz to provide all the support to the families of those who unfortunately lost their lives and care for all the injured people. I will be attentive and supporting”, the governor of Guanajuato wrote on his social networks, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.

From January to July of this year, 9,315 people have died due to traffic accidents in Mexico, of which 841, 9%, occurred in Guanajuato, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.
