Gael García Bernal quiere que su personaje en “Werewolf by Night”, aparezca con Doctor Strange en UCM

El histrión mexicano Gael García Bernal se suma a esta nueva etapa del Universo Cinematográfico Marvel (UCM), dando vida a Jack Russell y siendo nada más y nada menos que el protagonista de Werewolf by Night, el especial de Hallowen que preparó la empresa dirigida por Kevin Feige y, la cual, ya está disponible en Disney+ desde el pasado 7 de octubre.

Bernal ha sido gran escéptico, pues el director del especial, Michael Giacchino, ha dicho que la trama existe en el UCM más grande, incluso si es una historia independiente sin cruces ni cameos. Esto ha dejado la puerta abierta para que Jack Russell, aparezca en futuros proyectos de Universo de Marvel Studios.

Ante estas declaraciones del también brillante compositor, el intérprete que ha participado en diversos melodramas con gran éxito en México como Rudo y Cursi, Amores Perros, Y tu mamá también, entre otras, compartió en una entrevista con el portal de YouTube, Jake’s Takesque todavía no se hace a la idea de formar parte de Marvel Studios.

“No podría estropear nada porque no tengo idea. No sé a dónde puede llevar esto. Sé que hay muchas posibilidades de que aparezca con los personajes que ya existen. Es un personaje que ha vivido 300-400 años así que quién sabe”, resaltó el actor mexicano.

Sin embargo, esto no fue todo, pues el nacido en Guadalajara hizo especial hincapié en que uno de sus más grandes deseos es que su personaje Jack Russell pueda ralacionarse dentro del UCM con el Dr Strange de Benedict Cumberbatch: “Creo que Doctor Strange es realmente bueno porque tendrían mucho de qué hablar”, indicó con notoria emoción.

El proyecto perteneciente a la Fase 4 del UCM se ambienta en 1972, creado por Gerry Conway y Mike Ploog, fue presentado durante la D23, el pasado 10 de septiembre, cuando Marvel publicó el primer adelanto oficial de Werewolf By Night donde nos adentra en esta faceta del personaje que afronta una doble vida.

Para establecer un estilo más terrorífico, la producción tomará muchas referencias del cine clásico y de las películas de terror de la productora británica Hammer en los 60s. Al especial se sumó el talento de Laura Donnelly como Elsa Bloodstone, Harriet Sansom Harris, Eugene Bondurant y Kirk R. Tatcher.

La llegada de los monstruos a la pantalla grande de la mano de Marvel es cada vez más latente, esto tras la llegada de Jack Rusell y Blade, así como por las recientes declaraciones del presidente del UCM, Kevin Feige quien anunció que los entes sobrenaturales formaran parte importante del futuro de la empresa.

“Presentamos un mundo que, en última instancia, será muy importante para el futuro del UCM. Queríamos explorar personajes completamente nuevos y lados completamente nuevos del UCM con este giro inusual, divertido y aterrador de lo sobrenatural”, indicó en una entrevista con IGN.
