Enner Valencia hace historia en el Mundial de Qatar 2022, al llevar 6 goles consecutivos con Ecuador en una Copa del Mundo, al sumar los 3 que lleva en el actual torneo con los 3 que anotó en Brasil 14, con lo que igualó la marca de Eusebio, Paolo Rossi y Oleg Salenko.

El delantero anotó los 2 goles con los que la selección ecuatoriana derrotó 2-0 a Qatar en el partido inaugural de Qatar, así como firmó el tanto con el que empataron a 1 con los Países Bajos en la jornada 2 del Grupo A del presente torneo.

Con dichas anotaciones, Valencia se convirtió en el cuarto futbolista en llegar a 6 tantos de manera consecutiva con su selección en la Copa del Mundo.

Pero eso no es todo, Valencia también escribió su nombre en un apartamento muy especial, en el de los jugadores que consiguieron 6 goles o más en sus primeros 5 partidos en un Mundial, donde ahora se encuentra junto a Pelé, Fontaine, Rahn, Gerd Müller, Eusebio, Cubillas, Harry Kane, Lato, Lineker, James Rodríguez y Salenko.

The hosts are already out of their own tournamen

Ecuador fought back after conceding an early goal to the Netherlands, responding well to claim a 1-1 draw, a result that means hosts Qatar are already eliminated from the 2022 World Cup.

The match started perfectly for Louis van Gaal as Cody Gakpo fired in a strike from distance in the sixth minute.

However, Ecuador‘s response was excellent and Gakpo‘s shot ended up being the Netherlands‘ only shot on target of the entire game.

After the South Americans improved and improved throughout the first half, they thought they’d scored an equaliser just before half time, but Pervis Estupinan‘s flick was ruled out for offside because Jackson Porozo was deemed to be interfering with the goalkeeper’s line of vision.

Ecuador kept going, though, after the break, and they equalised through Enner Valencia, who stayed onside this time and finished well, after having score both goals in his side’s opening day win over Qatar.

Gonzalo Plata smashed a strike off the crossbar as Ecuador looked to completely turn the game around. Although they finished in the ascendency, the Netherlands were able to hold on for a point.

The situation in Group A: Qatar are out already

This result means that the Netherlands and Ecuador are both sitting on four points and the same goal difference and same goals scored ahead of the final round, when the Dutch will meet hosts Qatar and Ecuador will duel with Senegal.

Qatar, though, are already out, as they lost both their matches so far, so the host nation won’t be continuing in their own tournament.
