Construyen Seis nuevas “Casas Habitat”  en el norte de Tulsa / Six new “Habitat Homes” being built in North Tulsa

Tulsa, Oklahoma – El sábado 22 de abril, Green Country Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) organizó el Clark Howard Blitz Build, el segundo evento anual de este tipo en Tulsa. GCHFH está construyendo seis nuevas casas simultáneamente como parte de la Iniciativa del norte de Tulsa de la organización. GCHFH está construyendo 250 viviendas asequibles ocupadas por sus propietarios en el norte de Tulsa que alinean los objetivos para impactar la brecha de riqueza racial en la ciudad. 

Cinco empresas locales (y Clark Howard) patrocinan la construcción de las casas: Ameristar, J.M. HUBER Corporation, ONE Gas, ONEOK, Williams y Habitat’s Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers donan y trabajan como voluntarios en este evento. El 22 de abril, a cada equipo corporativo se le asignó una casa, y los voluntarios pasaron el día trabajando en el lugar bajo la estrecha supervisión de personal de construcción capacitado de GCHFH.  

ONE Gas y ONEOK estuvieron entre los patrocinadores presentes para anunciar sus nuevos compromisos financieros plurianuales para apoyar la Iniciativa Habitat’s North Tulsa. 

“Un hogar es mucho más que una simple estructura”, dijo Pamela Amburgy, vicepresidenta de la fundación ONEOK y relaciones comunitarias. “Un hogar aporta estabilidad y proporciona un lugar donde una familia puede prosperar. Estamos orgullosos de apoyar la creación de más de estas oportunidades para las familias a través de nuestro compromiso de varios años y nuestra asociación continua con Habitat for Humanity”.

Mientras Howard patrocina anualmente la construcción de casas individuales con Hábitat para la Humanidad Internacional, esta es su segunda “Blitz Build” con la filial de Tulsa Habitat en seis casas a la vez. 

“Estamos encantados de ofrecer a seis familias la oportunidad de adquirir nuevas viviendas en este maravilloso barrio. El hecho de que la ciudad de Tulsa anunció recientemente que Chamberlin Park está programado para grandes mejoras, incluyendo una nueva piscina como parte del plan de financiación de capital `Mejorar Nuestra Tulsa´, es sólo la guinda del pastel”, dijo Cameron Walker, presidente y CEO de Green Country Habitat for Humanity.

Six new “Habitat Homes” being built in North Tulsa 

Tulsa, Oklahoma – On Saturday, April 22, Green Country Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) hosted the Clark Howard Blitz Build, the 2nd annual event of its kind in Tulsa. GCHFH is building six new homes simultaneously as part of the organization’s North Tulsa Initiative. GCHFH is building 250 affordable owner-occupied homes in North Tulsa that align goals to impact the racial wealth gap in the city. 

Five local companies (and Clark Howard) are sponsoring the house builds; Ameristar, J.M. HUBER Corporation, ONE Gas, ONEOK, Williams, and Habitat’s Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers are each donating and volunteering to this event. On April 22, each corporate team was assigned a house, and volunteers spent the day working on-site under the close supervision of trained GCHFH construction staff.  

ONE Gas and ONEOK were among the sponsors present to announce their new multi-year financial commitments to support Habitat’s North Tulsa Initiative. 

“A home is so much more than just a structure,” said Pamela Amburgy, Vice President, ONEOK Foundation and Community Relations. “A home brings stability and provides a place where a family can thrive. We are proud to support creating more of these opportunities for families through our multi-year commitment and continued partnership with Habitat for Humanity.” 

While Howard annually sponsors individual home builds with Habitat for Humanity International, this is his second “Blitz Build” with the Tulsa Habitat affiliate on six homes at once. 

“We are thrilled to provide an opportunity for six families to purchase new homes in this wonderful neighborhood. The fact that the City of Tulsa recently announced that Chamberlin Park is slated for major upgrades, including a new pool as part of the Improve Our Tulsa capital funding plan, is just icing on the top,” said Cameron Walker, President and CEO of Green Country Habitat for Humanity.
