Para hacer goles hay que generar oportunidad, que fue uno de los objetivos de Jaime Lozano desde que asumió el cargo con la Selección Mexicana.

Sin embargo, entre más clara sea la ocasión de gol, más probabilidad hay de marcar, y esa es el área de mejora que tiene este equipo.

Previo a la Final de la Copa Oro, México era el equipo que más disparos promedio por cada 90 minutos con 20.2, seguido por Estados Unidos con 18-5 y luego Guadalupe con 14.3.

También el Tri fue el equipo que más disparos al arco promedió con 7, por 6.7 de los estadounidenses y Guadalupe. Pero cuando se observa el promedio de gol por cada disparo, así se cae a 0.1, el décimo entre todos los participantes en el torneo.
