Por José Antonio Zapico Díaz – contamos cuándo se juegan los cuartos de final del Mundial 2023, qué equipos se han clasificado, cuáles son los primeros cruces y horarios de todos los partidos.

Ya se conocen seis de los ocho cuartofinalistas del Mundial femenino que se está celebrando en Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Ya han conseguido el pase a esta ronda España, Japón, Países Bajos, Suecia, Inglaterra y Australia.

Las de Jorge Vilda fueron las primeras en conseguir el pase con un buen partido ante Suiza. Aitana fue la líder de un equipo que se impuso 1-5 y entró por primera vez en la historia en los cuartos de final de una cita mundialista. Poco después conseguía su billete a los cuartos la selección de Japón. Las de Ikeda volvieron a demostrar que son el verdadero equipo a batir en este Mundial ante Noruega por 3-1. De hecho, las niponas son las únicas campeonas de un Mundial que estarán en cuartos de esta edición.

Países Bajos hizo valer su favoritismo ante Sudáfrica y se impuso con un claro 2-0 a la selección africana, pero la gran sorpresa la protagonizó Suecia. La selección nórdica eliminó a la vigente campeona, Estados Unidos, en una tanda de penaltis con suspense que el VAR decidió a favor de las europeas.

Asimismo, ya hay horarios para los cuartos de final. España y Países Bajos abrirán el viernes 11 a las 3:00, hora española. Ese mismo día, Japón y Suecia jugarán a las 9:30. El sábado 12 serán los otros dos cuartos. El primero será el partido entre Inglaterra y Colombia a las 9:00 hora española. El cierre será el choque entre Australia, que eliminó a Dinamarca, y quien se imponga en el Francia/Marruecos, a las 12:00 hora española.

Cuándo se juegan los cuartos de final del Mundial 2023

La primera de las eliminatorias que se disputó en la actual edición de la Copa del Mundo se jugó el cinco de agosto. Dos días después de que se acabara la fase de grupos.

A partir de ese momento, se jugarán los encuentros correspondientes a los octavos de final de la Copa del Mundo en tres fechas consecutivas más: seis, siete y ocho de agosto.

Cup: qualified teams, table, schedules, matches and when they are played

Six of the eight fourth-finalists of the Women’s World Cup that is being held in Australia and New Zealand are already known. Spain, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, England and Australia have already won the pass to this round.

Jorge Vilda’s were the first to get the pass with a good match against Switzerland. Aitana was the leader of a team that won 1-5 and entered for the first time in history in the quarterfinals of a World Cup event. Shortly after, the Japan national team got his ticket to the quarters. Ikeda’s team once again showed that they are the real team to beat in this World Cup against Norway 3-1. In fact, the Japanese are the only champions of a World Cup who will be in the quarterfinals of this edition.

The Netherlands asserted its favoritism against South Africa and won the African team with a clear 2-0, but the big surprise was led by Sweden. The Nordic team eliminated the reigning champion, the United States, in a suspenseful penalty shootout that the VAR decided in favor of the Europeans.

Likewise, there are already schedules for the quarterfinals. Spain and the Netherlands will open on Friday 11 at 3:00, Spanish time. That same day, Japan and Sweden will play at 9:30. On Saturday the 12th, the other two rooms will be. The first will be the match between England and Colombia at 9:00 Spanish time. The closure will be the clash between Australia, which eliminated Denmark, and whoever prevails in France/Morocco, at 12:00 Spanish time.

When are the quarterfinals of the 2023 World Cup played?

The first of the qualifiers that was played in the current edition of the World Cup was played on August 5. Two days after the group stage was over.

From that moment on, the matches corresponding to the round of 16 of the World Cup will be played on three more consecutive dates: six, seven and eight of August.
