Nueva instalación textil inmersiva en Gathering Place / New Immersive Textile Installation at Gathering Place

Tulsa, OK – Una nueva instalación textil inmersiva a gran escala de la mundialmente conocida artista y diseñadora textil Rachel Hayes se expone ahora en Gathering Place hasta el 30 de septiembre. 

La obra de Hayes, titulada A Color Story (Una historia de color), incluye siete banderas de tela multicolor instaladas en la zona que rodea el árbol de lectura de la PSO. Las banderas de estilo mosaico varían de tamaño y están diseñadas para captar el sol y ondear con la brisa. Hayes instaló el vibrante despliegue orgánicamente entre los árboles del parque. 

“El color se instaló en todo el Árbol de Lectura PSO para resaltar varios puntos de la zona, manteniendo la mirada mientras se camina entre los árboles”, dijo la artista Rachel Hayes. “Desde la distancia, los colores vivos pueden llamar la atención de alguien para que se acerque. La obra puede mecerse suavemente con el viento o captar la luz que se cuela entre los árboles”. 

La obra invita a los visitantes del parque a pasear entre las coloridas telas para contemplar las vistas y los sonidos de la instalación, inmersa en los elementos naturales del parque.  

“Gathering Place es un espacio para dar rienda suelta a la creatividad y la imaginación”, declaró Julio Badin, Director Ejecutivo de Gathering Place. “Estamos encantados de traer al parque obras de arte vibrantes y envolventes para disfrute de los visitantes. Para Gathering Place es un honor exponer la obra de la artista de Tulsa Rachel Hayes, y esperamos que su trabajo inspire a otros a ser creativos en el parque.”

New Immersive Textile Installation at Gathering Place 

Tulsa, OK — A new large-scale, immersive textile installation by world-renowned artist and textile designer Rachel Hayes is now on display at Gathering Place through September 30. 

Hayes’ artwork––titled A Color Story––includes seven, multicolored fabric flags installed in the area surrounding the PSO Reading Tree. The mosaic-style flags vary in size and are designed to catch the sun and blow in the breeze. Hayes installed the vibrant display organically among the park’s trees. 

“Color was installed throughout the PSO Reading Tree to highlight various points in the area, keeping the eyes searching while walking through the trees,” said artist Rachel Hayes. “From a distance, the bold colors may grab someone’s attention to come closer. The artwork may gently sway in the wind or catch light dappling through the trees.” 

The artwork invites park guests to walk among the colorful fabrics to notice the sights and sounds of the installation as it is immersed with the natural elements of the park.  

“Gathering Place serves as a space for creativity and imagination to run wild,” said Julio Badin, Executive Director of Gathering Place. “We are thrilled to bring vibrant and immersive artwork into the park for visitors to enjoy.
