TULSA, OK – El invicto boxeador profesional de Tulsa, David Pérez, hace su debut internacional en DAZN, el servicio líder mundial de transmisión de deportes en vivo, el viernes 26 de abril en el Caribe Royale Resort de Orlando. Pérez, de 26 años y 126 libras, se enfrenta al puertorriqueño Jan Paul Rivera, de 22 años (8-0, 5 KOs), previo a la  cartelera de Jake Paul/Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) “Most Valuable Prospects”, que cuenta con Yoenis Téllez vs Joseph Jackson y Tony Aguilar vs Alexander Ríos Vega como el evento co-principal.

“David ha demostrado ser un oponente formidable en el ring, y ha estado entrenando duro para esta pelea”, dice Aaron Sloan, entrenador, manager y promotor de Pérez. “Esta es una gran oportunidad para que David avance en su carrera profesional y para que los aficionados al boxeo de todo el mundo lo vean en acción. Esperamos un combate emocionante”. 

Para Pérez, este combate representa el siguiente paso en su carrera.

“Creo que el juego de piernas será una gran clave en esta pelea, confiar en mis reflejos, confiar en mis ojos”, dice Pérez. “Estoy emocionado de que mis amigos y familiares de Tulsa y más allá puedan verme pelear. El hecho de que este combate se transmita a través de DAZN me permite alcanzar un nivel completamente nuevo con mi carrera, y una audiencia completamente nueva”.

Para este combate retransmitido en directo, Pérez usará un calzoncillo rojo con el nombre “Mrs. Austin” bordado en la cintura blanca. Las palabras son un guiño a Carly Austin, la profesora de artes culinarias de Pérez en el Tulsa Technology Center – Owasso, donde Pérez asistió a clases durante su tercer año de secundaria en 2015. Antes de terminar el semestre, Pérez le dejó una nota a Austin prometiéndole que algún día saldría en televisión. Ese día por fin ha llegado.

“El boxeo me ha cambiado la vida”, dice Pérez, que trabaja a tiempo completo como entrenador y preparador personal en el Engine Room Boxing Gym de Tulsa. “Me ha aportado confianza en mí mismo y me hace feliz. No creo que haya otra cosa en el mundo que pudiera hacer que me hiciera tan feliz”.

 “Most Valuable Prospects” es la última serie de MVP, creada para destacar a la próxima generación de los mejores atletas masculinos y femeninos de este deporte, todos ellos con aspiraciones al título mundial. 

“Antes de nuestro evento pionero en julio con Jake Paul contra Mike Tyson, estamos encantados de volver a Orlando para presentar el viernes 26 de abril la cartelera más condecorada hasta la fecha”, dijeron los cofundadores de MVP, Nakisa Bidarian y Jake Paul, en un comunicado de prensa anterior. “La gran mayoría de las jóvenes estrellas de esta cartelera ostentan récords invictos, campeonatos amateur, o ambos, con un asombroso récord profesional de 97-4-2 entre todos ellos, con 59 nocauts. Esta lista de principio a fin de algunos de los mejores boxeadores prometedores en el boxeo será un evento de visita obligada para los aficionados”.

TULSA, OK – Undefeated Tulsa professional boxer David Perez makes his international broadcast debut on DAZN, the world’s leading live sports streaming service, Friday, April 26 at Orlando’s Caribe Royale Resort. Twenty-six-year-old, 126-pound Perez faces Puerto Rico’s Jan Paul Rivera, 22 (8-0, 5 KOs), as the opener on a Jake Paul/Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) “Most Valuable Prospects” card, which features Yoenis Tellez vs Joseph Jackson and Tony Aguilar vs Alexander Rios Vega as the co-main event.

“David has proven himself to be a formidable opponent in the ring, and he’s been training hard for this fight,” says Aaron Sloan, Perez’ coach, manager and promoter. “This is a great opportunity for David to further his pro career and for boxing fans across the world to see him in action. We’re looking forward to an exciting match.” 

For Perez, this fight represents the next step in his career.

“I think footwork will be a big key to this fight, trusting my reflexes, trusting my eyes,” Perez says. “I am excited for my friends and family in Tulsa and beyond to see me fight. The fact this match is being streamed through DAZN allows me to reach a whole new level with my career, and a whole new audience.”

For this livestreamed fight, Perez will be wearing red trunks with the name “Mrs. Austin” embroidered on the white waistband. The words are a nod to Carly Austin, Perez’ culinary arts teacher at Tulsa Technology Center – Owasso, where Perez attended classes during his junior year of high school in 2015. Before he finished the semester, Perez left Austin a note promising her he would be on television someday. That day has finally arrived.

“Boxing has changed my life,” says Perez, who works full time as a coach and personal trainer at Tulsa’s Engine Room Boxing Gym. “It’s brought me self-confidence, and it makes me happy. I don’t think there’s anything else in the world I could possibly do that would make me this happy.”

 “Most Valuable Prospects” is MVP’s latest series, created to highlight the next generation of the sport’s best male and female athlete’s, who all have world title aspirations.
