Ex pastor juvenil condenado a 14 años por delitos sexuales contra menores

TULSA, Oklahoma. – Un ex pastor juvenil de Jenks ha sido condenado a 14 años de prisión federal tras declararse culpable de intento de coacción y seducción de un menor y posesión de pornografía infantil, según anunció el jueves el fiscal federal Clint Johnson.

El juez federal John F. Heil III impuso la pena de 168 meses a Chaz Chinsethagid, de 34 años, el 16 de mayo. Tras cumplir su condena, Chinsethagid estará en libertad condicional de por vida y deberá registrarse como delincuente sexual.

Según los documentos judiciales, Chinsethagid entró a sabiendas en una sala de chat en línea entre diciembre de 2023 y marzo de 2024, donde inició conversaciones con alguien que creía que tenía 14 años. Tras hablar inicialmente sobre temas escolares, Chinsethagid rápidamente desvió la conversación hacia contenidos sexuales e intentó incitar al menor a participar en una videollamada y a proporcionarle fotos sexualmente explícitas.

La investigación también reveló que Chinsethagid poseía vídeos e imágenes explícitos de niños, algunos de ellos menores de 12 años, participando en actos sexualmente explícitos.

Chinsethagid permanecerá bajo custodia a la espera de su traslado a la oficina de prisiones de los Estados Unidos.

El caso fue investigado por la oficina de investigaciones de seguridad nacional y la división de investigaciones criminales del departamento de seguridad pública de Texas. La fiscal adjunta de los Estados Unidos, Ashley Robert, se encargó de la acusación.

El enjuiciamiento formaba parte del proyecto Niñez Segura, una iniciativa nacional del departamento de justicia puesta en marcha en 2006 para combatir la creciente epidemia de explotación y abuso sexual infantil. Dirigido por las fiscalías federales y la Sección de Explotación Infantil y Obscenidad, el proyecto coordina los recursos federales, estatales y locales para detener mejor a las personas que explotan a los niños en Internet e identificar y rescatar a las víctimas.

Former Youth Pastor Sentenced to 14 Years for Child Sex Crimes

TULSA, Okla. – A former youth pastor from Jenks has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to attempted coercion and enticement of a minor and possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson announced Thursday.

U.S. District Judge John F. Heil, III imposed the 168-month sentence on Chaz Chinsethagid, 34, on May 16. Following his prison term, Chinsethagid will serve lifetime supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, Chinsethagid knowingly entered an online chat room between December 2023 and March 2024, where he initiated conversations with someone he believed to be 14 years old. After initially discussing school topics, Chinsethagid quickly shifted the conversation to sexual content and attempted to entice the minor to participate in a video call and provide sexually explicit photos.

The investigation also revealed that Chinsethagid possessed explicit videos and images of children, including some under 12 years old, engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Chinsethagid will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley Robert handled the prosecution.

The prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, the project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to better apprehend individuals who exploit children online and to identify and rescue victims.
