TPS encourages families to prepare for new school year

TULSA, OK – The 2019-2020 school year begins on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, and Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging families to plan ahead for a strong start to the year. Back to school information for parents, students, and families is available on the district’s website at www.tulsaschools.org/backtoschool.

“We’ve got an exciting year of teaching and learning in store for our kids, and we’re eager to welcome Tulsa students and families back to school on August 21,” said Superintendent Deborah A. Gist. “We hope that students will develop good attendance habits early in the year, and we encourage parents to talk with their children about the importance of getting to school on time every day. Students can fall behind even if they miss just a day or two every few months – every minute of learning matters.”

The district is reminding families to plan for the new school year by:

Enrolling before the school year begins by visiting www.tulsaschools.org/enroll or coming to the Enrollment Center at 2819 S. New Haven Ave between 8am and 4pm on weekdays.
