Becky G reconocida en Premios Juventud

La cantautora estadounidense Becky G, fue reconocida este año por los Premios Juventud como una «Agente de cambio» social, una distinción que, según dijo «es un mandato para seguir» usando su voz y «ayudar a los que no la tienen”.

Horas antes de que recibiera el premio de manera virtual, la artista reflexionó sobre «la importancia de seguir trabajando para mejorar las cosas que están mal en nuestra comunidad» y cómo este reconocimiento la ha conmovido y convencido de que está «en el camino correcto”.

«Me siento muy orgullosa y honrada de recibir este premio, pero al mismo tiempo me ha recalcado que queda mucho camino por hacer», indicó la artista, quien contó que desde que tenía 15 años ha estado presente en los Premios Juventud y, desde entonces, al inicio de su carrera profesional en la música, también decidió que quería «ayudar a los demás”.

La nieta de inmigrantes mexicanos indocumentados se ha sumado a campañas para promover el voto en EEUU y para animar a los latinos a participar en el censo.

«Me sumé al movimiento de ‘Black Lives Matter’ (Las vidas negras importan) porque yo crecí en ese mundo. Soy mexicana-estadounidese. Vivo en mi mundo latino y en mi mundo americano. Soy las dos cosas y en los dos hay problemas de racismo y de injusticias, contra nosotros y entre nosotros”, indicó la estrella.

Durante la pandemia decidió aprovechar el tiempo para educarse mejor, sobre todo en los temas que le interesan y, dijo, se «ha dado cuenta de que siempre hay más cosas que aprender» y de que todos tienen la responsabilidad de «educar a los que los rodean».

Bad Bunny domina en unos heroicos Premios Juventud

Univision logró organizar con éxito este jueves la edición de 2020 de sus Premios Juventud, en los que Bad Bunny se erigió como el mayor ganador con ocho galardones a pesar de las fuertes restricciones por la pandemia del coronavirus, que incluyeron hacer un espectáculo con números musicales sin audiencia.

En segundo lugar de estos premios que reconocieron a lo mejor de la música, el espectáculo y las dinámicas de internet quedaron los colombianos J Balvin y Karol G, con cinco Premios Juventud cada uno, seguidos por el puertorriqueño Anuel AA, con cuatro.

Premios Juventud 2020: Bad Bunny, Karol G, J Balvin & More Among Top Winners

Bad Bunny, Karol G and J Balvin were among the top winners at Premios Juventud 2020 which took place tonight (August 13) at the Hard Rock Cafe & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

Taking home the first of the night was corridos tumbados Mexican singer Natanael Cano whose “Amor Tumbado” was awarded “la más picosa” or “spicy regional song.” The awarded was presented by Sebastian Yatra, who served as one of tonight’s host, and Mau Y Ricky.

It’s important to note that social distancing was kept in mind while awards were given to the mask-wearing artists who were there to receive the award in person. Others accepted the award via video.

Before any other awards were handed out, The Wailers performed a reggaetón version of “One World, One Prayer” in collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, Pedro Capó, Camilo, Farruko and Kany García. Subsequently, Pitbull took the stage, dressed in all white matching his dancers, to sing his new anthem “I Believe That We Will Win.”

The second award was given to Karol G for “Tusa,” which landed the “la más pegajosa (can’t get enough of this song)” award. Other big winners of the night include Bad Bunny — who took home eight awards including “the quarentune” and “can’t get enough” — J Balvin, Anuel and Daddy Yankee.
