TULSA, OK – En respuesta ante la emergencia sanitaria por COVID-19, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) ofrece múltiples opciones de cobertura médica a través de un nuevo período especial de inscripción en el mercado federal de seguros médicos. El objetivo del nuevo período de inscripción es ampliar el acceso a servicios de atención médica de calidad y rentabilidad a la población de Oklahoma que aún no cuenta con cobertura médica. No será requisito presentar comprobantes de sucesos que lo hagan elegible para contratar una cobertura durante este período especial, que se lleva a cabo del 15 de febrero al 15 de agosto de 2021.
“Como la aseguradora más antigua y la entidad sin fines de lucro más grande del estado, tenemos el compromiso de ofrecerle cobertura de calidad y a un precio razonable a cada residente del Oklahoma”, comentó Joseph R. Cunningham, M.D., presidente de BCBSOK. “Invito a todos los residentes del estado a que, ahora más que nunca, conozcan sus opciones y que soliciten cobertura médica en estos tiempos de tanta incertidumbre”.
Con la apertura del período especial de inscripción, el equipo de especialistas con licencia del Centro móvil de atención (MAC, en inglés) de BCBSOK se comenzó a moverse por todo el estado a partir del 22 de febrero con el fin de ayudar a los residentes de Oklahoma a solicitar cobertura médica, ya sea en persona, por teléfono o de forma virtual. El personal del Centro móvil de atención (MAC, en inglés) de BCBSOK tiene la habilidad de prestar los siguientes servicios:
explicar servicios con cobertura;
buscar la mejor cobertura para cada presupuesto y necesidades;
confirmar elegibilidad para recibir ayuda financiera.

BCBSOK offers coverage options in all 77 counties
TULSA, OK — In response to the COVID-19 health emergency, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is offering multiple health coverage options through a new special enrollment period in the federal health insurance marketplace. The goal of the new enrollment period is to expand access to quality, cost-effective health care services to Oklahoma’s population who do not yet have health coverage. It will not be required to present proof of events that make you eligible to contract coverage during this special period, which takes place from February 15 to August 15, 2021.
“As the oldest insurer and the largest nonprofit in the state, we are committed to providing quality, affordable coverage to every Oklahoma resident,” said Joseph R. Cunningham, M.D., president of BCBSOK. “I invite all residents of the state to know their options now more than ever and to apply for health coverage in these uncertain times.”
With the opening of the Special Enrollment Period, the BCBSOK Mobile Care Center (MAC) team of licensed specialists began moving across the state beginning February 22 to assist Oklahoma residents to apply for health coverage, either in person, over the phone or virtually. BCBSOK Mobile Service Center (MAC) staff have the ability to explain covered services, look for the best coverage for each budget and needs, and confirm eligibility for financial aid.
