Fallece el cantante argentino Diego Verdaguer por complicaciones de covid-19
CIUDAD MÉXICO.- El cantante argentino, nacionalizado mexicano, Diego Verdaguer, falleció a los 70 años debido a consecuencias del covid-19, luego de haberse contagiado en el mes de diciembre, informó este jueves su compañía discográfica Diam Music.
«Con absoluta tristeza lamento informar a todo su público y amigos que papá el día de hoy dejó su hermoso cuerpo para continuar su camino y creatividad en otra forma de vida eterna, mi madre, yo y toda la familia estamos sumergidos en este dolor por lo que apreciamos su comprensión en estos momentos tan difíciles», expresó su hija, Ana Victoria por medio de un comunicado de prensa.
Según detalla la nota, al cantante se le detectó el virus de la covid-19 a finales del año pasado y tuvo que ser hospitalizado.
Verdaguer falleció en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, Estados Unidos y la familia anunció que en ese mismo lugar será cremado.
«Por el profundo dolor que ha causado su partida, su familia ha decidido despedirlo en privado y pasar este difícil momento en tranquilidad y recogimiento. Posteriormente organizarán un acto público», se agregó en el comunicado.
Nacido en Buenos Aires el 26 de abril de 1951, bajo el nombre de Miguel Atilio Boccadoro Hernández, comenzó su carrera artística a los 17 años de edad con el nombre artístico de Diego Verdaguer.
El cantante logró mantener una trayectoria musical de más de 50 años en donde desarrolló temas de éxito como «Chiquilla», «Pájaro que comió, voló», entre otros.
Fue esposo de la también cantante argentina Amanda Miguel, con quien compartió su trayectoria artística al escribir en conjunto grandes éxitos como «La ladrona» o «Él me mintió».
Sus raíces italianas marcaron su estilo musical, así como su profundo amor por México, ambos países definieron la última etapa musical que vivió el cantante.

In a press release, Verdaguer’s daughter, Ana Victoria, said: “It is with absolute sadness, that I lament to inform the public and friends that today father left his beautiful body to continue his path and creativity in another form of eternal life… my mother, all my family and I are overwhelmed with pain, so we appreciate your understanding in such a difficult moment.”
According to the press release, the artist – who also had Mexican nationality – tested positive for Covid-19 at the end of 2021 and had to be hospitalized. “Due to the profound pain caused by his departure, his family has decided to say farewell him in private and spend this difficult moment in calm and seclusion. They will organize a public event at a later date,” the document continued.
