Game of Thrones cast says goodbye at Emmys, receive standing ovation

Es oficial, la entrega de los Premios Emmy 2019, marcó la despedida de la alfombras roja de una de las series de mayor alcance mundial, Game of Thrones. Ocho temporada transcurrieron y la serie de HBO abandona las premiaciones por todo lo alto al recibir el galardón a Mejor Serie Dramática.

Aunque la última entrega de la serie escrita por George R.R. Martin para la productora HBO logró marcar el récord del mayor número de premiaciones durante todas sus temporadas (57), no cumplió las mayoría de las expectativas de sus fanáticos, quienes se sumarían a la crítica pública sobre el inesperado giro que tuvo la historia.

Toda la atención estaba puesta sobre los nominados a la serie de ficción épica por haber conseguido obtener el número récord de 32 nominaciones a los Emmys. Sin embargo, apenas lograría conseguir dos estatuillas. La segunda estaría referida al actor Peter Dinklage, por su interpretación de Tyrion Lannister.

El total de Emmys que consiguió la serie desde sus inicios en 2009 fue de 12 galardones. Por su parte, la historia dirigida por David Benioff y D. B. Weiss logró conseguir otros trofeos en la gala anterior en el Teatro Nokia, Creative Arts Emmy Awards, donde se puntualizaron sobre las categorías de Efectos Visuales, Diseño del Título Principal, Maquillaje no Prostético, Casting de Series Dramáticas, entre otras categorías relacionadas con los efectos técnicos.

En emblema de la noche, estuvo referido a un discurso a favor de la inclusión de la mujer en la industria del entretenimiento, además de la reivindicación de los derechos de la comunidad sexo-diversa, LGBTQ+. Este enfoque fue referido por los galardonados de la noche.

The Game of Thrones cast took the stage at the 2019 Emmys to bid their epic HBO drama farewell — and received a standing ovation from the star-filled crowd.

The actors from the sprawling ensemble cast — all 10 nominated for Emmys this year — lined up on the Microsoft Theater stage in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Alfie Allen, Gwendoline Christie, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Carice van Houten, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Maisie Williams took turns speaking.

“As much as we wish the show would have gone on forever our time had come,” said Williams, who is up for best supporting actress in a drama series. “Now we have a chance to thank all of those who watched.”

“It’s amazing how the entire last season was for us,” added Turner, who is nominated in the same category.gettable experience.”

The cast was introduced by NBC late-night host Seth Meyers, who joked that the fantasy series was about many things, such as: “No matter the amount of wedding planning you do something invariably goes wrong, and how before 23 and Me people had to rely on word of mouth to find out they slept with their aunt.”

GoT was nominated for 32 Emmys for its eighth and final season, including best drama series, lead actress in a drama (Clarke) and lead actor in drama (Harington).
