Ben Affleck ‘Slipped Up’ This Weekend, But ‘Owned His Mistake’ As He Continues To Battle Alcoholism

El actor estadounidense recayó en la bebida después de casi un año de sobriedad. Este fin de semana fue visto borracho en una fiesta en Los Ángeles.

Tras permanecer casi un año alejado del alcohol, Ben Affleck volvió a sufrir este fin de semana una segunda recaída después de su último ingreso en una clínica de rehabilitación el pasado agosto. El actor, de 47 años de edad, mostró dificultades para caminar mientras salía de su hotel este fin de semana cuando se dirigía a una fiesta de Halloween de Unicef en West Hollywood, en Los Ángeles.

El medio norteamericano TMZ hizo público un video en el que se ve al intérprete vistiendo un traje oscuro y una máscara del villano de la película Scream, con evidentes problemas para mantenerse en pie. En las imágenes se le ve subirse al asiento de atrás de una camioneta con una mujer.

«La sobriedad es difícil y difícil de alcanzar para todos los que luchan contra la adicción», comentó un amigo de Affleck a la revista People. «Ben ha reconocido que va a fallar de vez en cuando, pero lo intenta», agregó la misma fuente.

Horas antes de la fiesta, el actor hizo mención a su recuperación en el último año. Publicó en las redes sociales un mensaje sobre su vida personal.

«Seamos serios por un momento. Hablemos de algo que es realmente importante», escribió. «He estado en recuperación por más de un año y parte de eso es ayudar a otros. @themidnightmission es una organización increíble que ayuda a los necesitados con vivienda, capacitación, desarrollo y recuperación», posteó.

Ben Affleck is already working hard on the road to recovery.

As we reported on Sunday, the Gone Girl star appeared to be drunk in public after a Halloween party in West Hollywood on Saturday night. Ben then confirmed on Sunday afternoon and acknowledged “it was a slip” while talking to paparazzi outside ex-wife Jennifer Garner‘s home.

All this is news, of Will Hunting actor to even own up to his behavior, as he did outside Garner’s house the day after his night out.

Ben, pictured here in 2018, has battled alcohol addiction for years now. / (c) WENNOne insider noted that while the 47-year-old “looked tired” in his rendezvous with the paparazzi at his ex’s home, he nevertheless did right by taking responsibility for what he’d done. The source said to People (below):

“You could tell that it wasn’t an easy thing for him, but Ben owned his mistake. He said it happens, that he slipped up but that it won’t happen again. It was a smart move because now the story is basically over.”

Is the story “basically over”??? Hmmm… not so sure about that part…

We do agree it was a smart, mature move to come clean and acknowledge the shortcoming. It’ll hopefully make it that much easier to fight the addiction moving forward, too!

Since the actor is clearly adult enough to own it like this, he can confront the underlying issues head on, and really make some long-term progress against the disease.
