Perry Flannigan y Arrielle Higginbottom Campeonas estatales con FHS

Perry Flannigan y Arielle Higginbottom ganan campeonato de voleibol en la Divi­- sión 6 de Arkansas con la Escuela Secundaria de FHS. Ahora las estudiantes graduadas de la Escuela Secundaria FHS ALLPS logran sueño realidad y jugaran voleibol universitario.

El jugar voleibol a nivel universitario fue el sueño de ambas jugadoras desde el inicio de sus carreras. Perry Flannigan ha escogido La Universidad de Northwestern State localizada en la Ciudad de Natchitoches, Estado de Lousiana. “Una de las razones por las cuales escogí esta universidad para estudiar y jugar es porque es una universidad con ambiente familiar. Y será allí donde pueda realizar mis estudios en veterinaria, y te permite completar dos años antes de entres de lleno a tu carrera de veterinaria.” Comento Perry.

Para lograr graduarse antes de Mayo, 2021, Perry tuvo que hacer unos pequeños ajustes a su horario de clase. Fue entonces cuando tuvo la opción de terminar sus estudios secundarios en ALLPS School of Innovation. “ALLPS fue la mejor opción para mi para poder terminar mi estudios académicos, y no sentirme tan agobiada por mis estudios y la temporada de voleibol. Los maestros siempre me aseguraron de que si necesita ayuda o apoyo que no dudara en consultarles.” Agrego Perry.

Ambas jugadoras con becas para jugar voleibol universitario”

Arielle Higginbottom comenzó a jugar voleibol cuando estaba en el séptimo grado. Desde entonces supo que jugaría este deporte por mucho tiempo.

Cuando ingreso a la secundaria jugo voleibol de playa por primera vez, y supo que esta rama deportiva la llevaría algún día a hacer su sueno realidad. Y fue así que recibió oferta para jugar para la Universidad Park en Gilbert, Arizona.

“Opte por ir a la Universidad Park Gilbert porque me ofrecieron beca para jugar voleibol de playa. También tengo familia y aproveche para visitar en varias ocasiones y termine enamorándome del lugar. Sentí que era el lugar ideal para dar inicio a mi carrera universitaria.” Comento Arielle.

La educación y el deporte van paralelas, y gracias a ser una estudiante aplicada y una deportista disciplinada Arielle podrá tener la gran oportunidad de no solo estudiar sino también jugar el deporte que mas le apasiona, voleibol de playa. Algo que logro gracias a su paso por ALLPS School of Innovation.

“El haber estudiado en ALLPS fue algo muy bueno para mi. Con los maestros que son muy dedicados a nosotros los estudiantes y con horarios muy flexibles y su programa de JAG (Jobs for Arkansas Graduates, por sus siglas en Ingles), tendré la oportunidad de graduarme en Noviembre y empezar la universidad temprano. ALLPS básicamente me salvo, los maestros y el Psicólogo Escolar se aseguraron que yo tuviera éxito y nunca me dejaron sola, si la existencia de este programa y la ayuda de los maestros, hoy yo no estuviera haciendo mi sueno realidad de poder jugar el deporte de mis amores en la universidad.” Concluyo Arielle.

A dream come true!

Perry Flannigan and Arielle Higginbottom were part of the Squad that won the High School State Championship. FHS ALLPS High School graduates are achieving their dream come true and will be playing college volleyball.

Playing volleyball at the college level was the dream of both players from the beginning of their careers.

Perry Flannigan has chosen Northwestern State University located in the City of Natchitoches, Louisiana. “I have always wanted to play volleyball in college. I picked Northwestern State University because the town of Natchitoches has a very family feel to it. The whole town is a big family. I plan on studying veterinary science and they have a very good program there that allows you to get two years ahead before going on to vet school.” Perry said.

In order to graduate before May 2021, Perry had to make a few minor adjustments to her class schedule. It was then that she had the option attending ALLPS School of Innovation.

“ALLPS was a good pick. It allowed me to focus on my academics while in my sport without feeling over whelmed. The teachers always reminded me that if I need help, I can reach out at any time and they’ll do their best to help me.” Perry concluded.

Arielle Higginbottom started playing volleyball when she was in the seventh grade. Since then Arielle knew that she would play this sport for a long time. When she entered high school, Arielle played beach volleyball for the first time, and knew that beach volleyball one day would lead her to make her dream come true. Later, Arielle received an offer to play for Park University in Gilbert, Arizona.

“I picked Park University Gilbert located in Gilbert Arizona because I got offered a beach volleyball scholarship to go there. I also have family there so I was making trips to see how I’d like it and I ended up loving it. It just felt like that’s where I was supposed to start my college experience.” Arielle said.

Education and sports go hand in hand, and thanks to being a diligent student and a disciplined athlete, Arielle will have the opportunity to not only study but also play the sport she is most passionate about, beach volleyball. Arielle is to thankful for the existence of ALLPS School of Innovation.

“Attending ALLPS was an amazing choice for me. With their hands on teachers and their flexible JAG schedule. I accomplished so much and I will be successfully graduating early in November to go college. ALLPS basically saved my grades and me. The teachers and my counselor did everything and anything they could to make sure I would succeed. I am so grateful for ALLPS and the people who work there. Without the help of the program and the teachers, I wouldn’t have this opportunity to be playing the sport I love in college.” Arielle concluded.
