Sporting KC cocinó al Campeón de Clasificación de la Conferencia Oeste en El Infierno Azul.

El jugador número 12 fue clave principal en la victoria de Sporting KC por marcador de 2-1 ante San Luis en los cuartos de final de la MLS. Los más de 21 mil aficionados que se hicieron presentes Al Infierno Azul fueron testigos de cómo Peter Vermes con un buen plan de juego logro avanzar a las semifinal de la Conferencia Oeste y con goles de Ndenbe sobre el final de la primera mitad, Salloi al 73, Sporting KC cocino al campeón de la clasificación de la conferencia oeste en el Infierno azul.

San Luis con un tiro de suerte de Pompeu se puso cerca en el marcador cuando a la altura del minuto 86 el balón cruzado terminó en el fondo de la red bañando al arquero Tim Melia.

Peter Vermers, D.T. de Sporting KC dijo “ Como le he dicho una y otra vez, esto no se trata de una rivalidad entre ambos equipos, simplemente es la eliminatoria. Para nosotros se trata de seguir sumando y seguir acercándonos a nuestro objetivo de ganar la Copa MLS. Ese es nuestro enfoque. Teníamos que ganar este juego y lo logramos. Los muchachos trabajaron fuerte para estar en esta eliminatoria y hoy se merecían ganar. Lo que más me satisface es que no solo querían llegar a la eliminatoria, ahora quieren ganar el título, eso se muestra en el terreno de juego con todos los titulares y los suplentes que están contribuyendo. Le dije a Robert Castellanos después de el juego, hay que tener los suficientes huevos para entrar al terreno de juego en la situación que lo hizo, sabiendo que todo está en riesgo, y hoy simplemente se solidifico en su posición.” Concluyo Vermes.

Sporting KC aún no ha ganado nada, simplemente le cayó la boca a muchos eliminando a San Luis. Pero por ahora, seguir avanzando no será nada fácil para Los del Infierno Azul.

En tres semanas, Sporting KC regresará a la acción para las semifinales del Copa MLS. SKC espera al rival de la serie entre Houston y Real Salt Lake.

The 12th Man played a crucial role in Sporting KC’s 2-1 victory against St. Louis in the MLS Cup quarterfinals. More of 21 thousand fans who came at the Blue Hell witnessed how Peter Vermes, with a good game plan, managed to advance to the semifinals of the Western Conference and with goals from Ndenbe at the end of the first half, Salloi at the 73rd miniute , Sporting KC cooked up the champion of the Western Conference standings in the Blue Hell.

St. Louis got close on the scoreboard with a lucky shot from Pompeu when at 86th minute the cross ball ended up in the back of the net, hitting goalkeeper Tim Melia.

Peter Vermes, Manager of Sporting KC said “I told you guys this time and time again as we were going into this series. This is not about a rivalry. It’s about the playoffs. It’s about trying to get as close as we can to winning the MLS Cup. That’s our objective, so all that other stuff goes off to the side. We have to win the game and that’s what’s most important. If you win the game, all the other stuff lines up as well. It’s the playoffs. That’s really what it meant to us. The guys worked so hard. As I said many times, they worked so hard to get to the playoffs. It’s a great reward, but it makes me even more pleased that they’re not just satisfied with getting to the playoffs. They want to try and go for it. You can see with the way the guys are playing and the way different guys are coming in the game and giving us different things. I told (Robert) Castellanos after the game, I said it took some big cajones to go in at that point in the game knowing everything is getting thrown at us. He did a really good job of just solidifying his position.” Vermes Concluded.
