Las empresas dirigidas por mujeres ayudan a orientar a individuos, profesionales y otras compañías hacia un futuro más equitativo y mejor. Aquí hay cuatro razones para trabajar en un negocio liderado por mujeres.

-Éxito y seguridad: Las empresas lideradas por mujeres han demostrado ser más exitosas que aquellas dirigidas por hombres. Un análisis realizado por Quantopian encontró que las mujeres CEO publicadas en Fortune 1000 generaron tres veces más ganancias que las empresas dirigidas por hombres.

Los negocios exitosos dirigidos por mujeres también tienden a ofrecerle a sus empleados igualdad salarial, beneficios de salud y bienestar, licencia de maternidad extendida y otras compensaciones importantes. Como las mujeres comprenden mejor las luchas para balancear la vida familiar y laboral, tienden a ser más flexibles y complacientes con situaciones que puedan surgir.

Cuando las mujeres ven a otras asumir roles de liderazgo, se sienten empoderadas y motivadas para realizar nuevos proyectos que quizás no habrían tenido la oportunidad o la confianza de aceptar.

En 2022, por ejemplo, la Asociación de Constructores de Puerto Rico (ACPR) hizo historia al nombrar a la arquitecta Vanessa De Mari como la primera mujer presidenta. De Mari se centró en las oportunidades y desafíos que enfrenta la industria de la construcción, como el aumento de los costos, la escasez de materiales, la falta de mano de obra y la reconstrucción de Puerto Rico.

Al ser la primera presidenta, abrió el camino para que otras mujeres arquitectas se sintieran empoderadas para asumir roles de liderazgo, dentro y fuera de sus empleos. Esto no solo aplica a la industria de la arquitectura, sino a todas las demás.

cesPara ayudar a los empleados a seguir creciendo profesionalmente, los negocios liderados por mujeres ofrecen distintas oportunidades y herramientas como ascensos laborales, seminarios de emprendimiento y talleres de liderazgo. Las mujeres siempre han tenido que trabajar el doble para lograr cualquier meta, y estamos más sintonizadas con los desafíos que enfrentan otras mujeres y grupos minoritarios.

Por ejemplo, el American Institute of Architects (AIAPR) realizó una importante exposición en 2022 titulada “Mujeres en Arquitectura: El Impacto de las Mujeres Arquitectas en Puerto Rico”. Dio visibilidad pública a más de 62 mujeres que han contribuido a la profesión y al desarrollo en diferentes ámbitos, incluyendo diseño, liderazgo, práctica profesional, educación, investigación, servicio público y trabajo voluntario. La exposición también ayudó a lanzar a arquitectas emergentes, ofreciéndoles la oportunidad de dar a conocer su trabajo, avanzar en sus carreras, buscar mentoría y conectarse con otros en la industria.

Inspiración: Las empresas lideradas por mujeres inspiran a otras compañías y profesionales de la industria a seguir sus pasos y contratar a más mujeres. En AD&V, el 87% de los cargos de liderazgo son ocupados por mujeres.

Four Reasons to Work in a Woman-Led Business

Companies led by women help guide individuals, professionals, and other companies towards a more equitable and better future. Here are four reasons to work in a woman-led business.

– Success and Security: Companies led by women have proven to be more successful than those led by men. An analysis by Quantopian found that women CEOs in the Fortune 1000 generated three times more profits than companies led by men.

Successful woman-led businesses also tend to offer their employees equal pay, health and wellness benefits, extended maternity leave, and other significant compensations. As women understand the struggles of balancing family and work life better, they tend to be more flexible and accommodating with situations that may arise.

When women see others assume leadership roles, they feel empowered and motivated to embark on new projects that they might not have had the opportunity or confidence to accept before.

In 2022, for example, the Puerto Rico Builders Association (ACPR) made history by appointing architect Vanessa De Mari as its first woman president. De Mari focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the construction industry, such as rising costs, material shortages, lack of labor, and the rebuilding of Puerto Rico.

As the first president, she paved the way for other women architects to feel empowered to take on leadership roles, both within and outside their jobs. This not only applies to the architecture industry but to all others as well.

– Growth and Development: To help employees continue to grow professionally, woman-led businesses offer various opportunities and tools such as job promotions, entrepreneurship seminars, and leadership workshops. Women have always had to work twice as hard to achieve any goal, and we are more in tune with the challenges faced by other women and minority groups.
