Trump amenaza a los inmigrantes y a la constitución nacional

TULSA, OK – Donald Trump volvió a hacer de las suyas esta semana disparando contra los inmigrantes que huyen de la pobreza en América Central. Se refirió a la caravana de inmigrantes que buscan asilo en los Estados Unidos, muchos de los cuales son mujeres y niños, como una “invasión”, que planea repeler utilizando la fuerza militar.
Si bien la caravana pierde seguidores a su paso, por cansancio, violencia, arrepentimiento y aceptación de la oferta de empleo del gobierno mexicano – que decidiera impulsar una cruzada de ofrecimiento de educación, trabajo y asilo- Trump le pidió a 5000 militares que se preparen para confrontar a los marchantes en la frontera.
“Hay pandilleros y muy malas personas mezclados con los inmigrantes en la caravana que se dirige al sur del país”, escribió Trump en Twitter, sin ofrecer evidencia alguna de sus declaraciones; algo que muchos ven como un esfuerzo para fomentar el pánico antes de las elecciones del martes.
“Vuelvan a sus hogares, aquí no van a ser admitidos, sólo entrarán si el proceso legal así lo determina”, agregó Trump. “Esta es una invasión a nuestro país y los militares los están esperando”.
A pesar de referirse al “proceso legal”, Trump y sus secuaces en el departamento de justicia y ministerio del interior han hecho lo imposible para evitar esos procesos legales en el pasado año, desestimando leyes nacionales e internacionales sin justificación alguna. La violación de una petición de asilo es una violación a la ley internacional.
Quizás la peor de las hipocresías llegó el pasado martes cuando Trump anunció que estaba considerando terminar el derecho a la ciudadanía por nacimiento usando una orden ejecutiva. Los expertos en derecho constitucional aseguraron que esta posibilidad está fuera de las obligaciones y derechos de un presidente que carece de autoridad legal semejante para modificar una de las garantías constitucionales sancionadas en la 14ava enmienda. La única manera de modificar esto es por medio de otra enmienda.
La proclama de Trump es particularmente hipócrita considerando que él mismo denunció al ex presidente Obama por “abuso de poder”, al intentar garantizarle a los inmigrantes ilegales una salida sancionando el DACA.
Al fin de cuentas Trump se convierte en una gran amenaza para la constitución de Estados Unidos, dejando de ser solamente el cuco de madres y niños hambrientos. (La Semana)

TULSA, OK – Donald Trump this week lashed out again at the migrants fleeing violence and poverty in Central America, referring to the caravan of asylum seekers, many of them women and children, now making their way northward across Mexico an “invasion,” one he plans to repel with the U.S. military.
Even as the group’s numbers diminish daily due to some returning home and others taking the Mexican government up on its offer of refuge, jobs, and education for the children, Trump ordered a 5,000 strong military force sent to the southern border to confront the migrants.
“Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border,” Trump posted to Twitter, offering no evidence to back up his assertion, which many see as transparent effort to instill fear in the American public before the crucial midterm elections.
“Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process,” Trump continued. “This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!”
Despite his reference to “the legal process,” Trump and his henchmen at the departments of Justice and Homeland Security have gone to great lengths to circumvent legal immigration over the past year, and Trump himself flaunts domestic and international law on a regular basis. His threats to deny the migrants access to the asylum process are yet another violation of international accords.
But perhaps the greatest of his many hypocrisies came this Tuesday, when Trump announced he was considering ending birthright citizenship by executive order. Legal experts and constitutional scholars are virtually unanimous in publicly refuting Trump’s legal authority to do this, because citizenship to all those born in the United States is a constitutional guarantee of the 14th Amendment and can only be taken away by another amendment. Trump’s statement is especially two-faced given that he vocally denounced President Barack Obama’s “illegal over-reach” in granting temporary legal status to DACA recipients by executive order.
At the end of the day, Donald Trump poses a far greater threat to the rule of law in the United States than a frightened mother and her starving children. (La Semana)
