Esta organización sin fines de lucro tiene la finalidad de detener la reproducción innecesaria de animales domésticos, y ofrece el mejor de los servicios al precio más bajo. “Lo que el público paga aquí no cubre ni la mitad de la cirugía, por eso dependemos de donaciones y subsidios para suplementar esos costos y lograr que el público pague siempre el precio más bajo”, explicó Cara Lord, directora de operaciones en Spay Oklahoma.

Hay quienes aún hasta el día de hoy se niegan a castrar a sus mascotas, algo que para Cara es esencial para proteger a nuestras amadas mascotas. “Las personas se enfurecen cuando se enteran de que los refugios están a tope, que los rescatistas no dan a vasto y que nadie acepta más gatitos ni cachorros, que en definitiva nacieron porque hay mascotas que no han sido castradas”, explicó.

La práctica es atendida por personas sumamente amables que adoran su trabajo, veterinarios capaces de operar setenta animales por día, con increíbles tasas de éxito. “Los animales son como las personas, pueden tener condiciones pre-existentes que desconocemos, pero en líneas generales tenemos cirugías exitosas. Siempre hay un riesgo por el uso de la anestesia, pero es algo mínimo”, clarificó Cara.

Spay Oklahoma invita a la comunidad hispana a conocer sus servicios y visitarlos en su clínica ubicada en la calle East Apache Street número 227 en Tulsa. “La calidad de los servicios que brindamos son los mismos que en un consultorio veterinario particular”, aseguró Cara.

Do you love your pet? Do you consider your adorable dog or cute kitten family? Then obviously you want what’s best for them. There comes a time when our furry friends need to be spayed or neutered, and for those who cannot afford a private vet, Spay Oklahoma is there to help.

The non-profit organization intended to fully stop the unnecessary reproduction of domestic animals offers the best care at the lowest price.

“What the public is paying is less than what the service actually costs, so we rely on donations, and the grants that are coming through to help supplement the cost of the surgery, so that the general public can still pay low cost,” explained Cara Lord, operations director of Spay Oklahoma.

Some people still question today the need for spaying, which for Lord is the ultimate way of rescuing an animal.

“People get upset because the shelters are so full, the rescuers are full and cannot take any more puppies and kitties, so spaying and nurturing your animals is in the end the ultimate rescue and the shelters are full because there are so many pets that haven’t been spayed or neutered,” she explained.

The facility is run by friendly people who love their job, and vets capable of spaying and neutering seventy animals a day, with high rates of success.

“The animals are much like people, they might have underlying conditions which you may not know about, but I would say our success rate is very high. So, just like with people there is always a risk of going under anesthesia, but its minimal,” she clarified.

Spay Oklahoma invites the Hispanic community to choose their services and welcomes them to pay a visit to the clinic, located at 227 East Apache Street, Tulsa.

“The quality and service they are getting here will be the same they will get at a private vet office,” assured Lord.
